I consider myself an avid movie-goer, and the Grand Action is hands down the best movie theater in a city with an unparalleled cinematic heritage. There are many independent cinemas in Paris showing art house and cult classics, but they tend to be predictable and repetitive. The GA consistently shows the best in new and lesser-known American, French and other cinema. They premier restorations and have director film cycles you won't find anywhere else. They just finished a Claire Denis cycle and today showed back-to-back films by Mike Nichols along with a re-release of a classic Alain Delon film.
