Out of the thousands of hotels in Paris, it can be overwhelming to find the one that suits the comforts and amenities of a place to stay while also being in an area that is appealing, easily accessible by the main modes of transportation (metro) and surrounded by more "local" places to eat or have a drink. Hotel Atmoshperes checked all the boxes for me on initial research, and upon check-in and my stay, the hotel indeed satisfied each and every aspect I desire in staying in a major city after having experienced it firsthand.
Of note (for my specific travel needs) the hotel was first off easy to reach via metro station from Gare de Est main train station. Upon check-in, the hotel has a nice lobby and that boutique touch that most 4* star hotels in Paris have that aren't part of the big chain/brand hotels.
The room was wonderful. Typical for the size and price point of a Parisian hotel room it had everything I needed. And while small, I really appreciated the lighting options in the room, from bright as day, to very discrete with the different light arrangements. The bed I found to be very comfortable. Plush enough yet supportive. The room had a mini fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, and some closet storage. I will say, the closet space is limited but not a deal breaker for me. It still was of use for my needs. My room had a special treat, a street facing balcony on the 5th floor! This was a special extra touch I had desired because of the appeal of people/street watching from my own space up above. With that said, noise from the street at the 5th floor level was minimal. Not enough to bother a light sleeper like me (sans the occasional city siren of an ambulance or police car driving by).
The entirety of the hotel was clean and well kept from what I saw. My room was always refreshed and equipped with fresh towels for each day.
I really want to make note on the hotel staff. Particularly two people. First the General Manager, Christelle Boin. While i have never stayed at this property previously, I was treated as if I have based on my status at another major chain hotel. The GM had left my partner and I a wonderfully handwritten note (beautiful modern postcard) and chocolates for us to come back to after a day out seeing the offers of the city. It was an extremely nice personal touch that made us both really appreciate that little bit "extra" that the hotel provided us and our stay. The second person I want to give a huge shoutout to is Marjorie! She gets a special shoutout because I noticed on another reservation site and hotel the hotel's own website that some rooms include a balcony. I had booked a room but a balcony was no guarantee. Before I committed to a reservation, I called the hotel an spoke with a woman (Marjorie) about a possible room with balcony. She mentioned upon booking the room, add the special request and they would see to it that they could make it happen. It did not take long after my phone call, booking the room and getting a response, did my desire to have a balcony room become confirmed and guaranteed! And for it to be honored on check-in really made the trip what it was for my Valentine! Marjorie was quick to recognize my name when she was on shift the second day as we were headed out and greeted us at the front desk with a big wonderful smile! It was great to have met the wonderful woman with which I spoke to previously on the phone and made my lovely Valentine's stay in Paris the perfect one! The balcony really made the room for us and Marjorie was the key person to ensure it could happen for us. A big THANK YOU for Marjorie at Hotel Atmospheres!!!
I can highly recommend the hotel for all things considered. Outside the hotel, ease to Metro access was critical and what can someone complain about being only a minutes walk to the Seine and...
Read moreWe have just returned from Hotel Atmospheres after a 2 night stay in Paris for my wifes birthday. We booked direct with the hotel and had the breakfast included with the room rate. The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter and is located on a relatively quite street around a 45 minute drive from CDG airport. Upon checking in at the hotel we were greeted by a modern lobby and reception area and first impressions were very positive. We were dealt with by Marjorie who was very pleasant and accommodating throughout. Staff are multi-lingual although I did try and speak French as I think the effort is appreciated. There was a city tax which was payable upon arrival at the reception which I was aware of beforehand as it is mentioned on the website when I booked but it is worth knowing about it anyway. After check in was complete we were given the key card to room 223 which is on the second floor. Lifts and stairs are available. The hotel do ask that when leaving the property that the room key is left at reception as it is always manned and is open 24 hours. I had read a few reviews mentioning this as being a negative or a bit strange but it really wasn't an issue for us doing that, and it saves either losing the key when you are exploring Paris or carrying it around in your pocket so really no big deal at all. |The room itself was really nice with modern furnishings and well appointed with a large screen tv, a coffee machine, telephone, hairdryer, a large bottle of water which can be refilled using the tap as it has a filter inside of it and we also had a bottle of wine from the hotel for my wifes birthday which was a nice touch. Our room looked onto the street which was good and it also has a small balcony. There was plenty of storage space aswell and a large double bed which was really comfortable and we both slept really well in it. I couldn't see any USB sockets in the room but we had a European adaptor which had those built in so not a problem for us but it could be for some. The room was cleaned each day aswell which was really good as some hotels clean rooms every other day.|The bathroom was again nice with a large shower which has a powerful rainfall shower head. The toilet isn't in the bathroom but in a separate room but it is worth noting that room where it is was very small and this could present a problem for some people but apart from that we had no issues with the room at all.|Breakfast is served between 7am-11am and this had a good selection of food available including sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon along with continental options aswell as the standard teas and coffees. |The hotel does also have a sauna and a gym although we didn't utilise those due to having a busy schedule planned but they are there to use.|There is no hotel bar service however there is an honesty bar which we didn't use but it was good to know that it was there if needed. This was the first hotel we had been in with an honesty bar but these seem to be more popular in smaller and boutique hotels. The lobby also has a relaxing chairs to sit on and a couple of games including a chess board and it was very quiet.|There are plenty of things near to the hotel either within walking distance or using transport. We walked to the Eiffel Tower from the hotel which did take about 50 minutes but it is nice just to explore on foot as you get to see things which maybe you might miss in taxis etc but the metros stations are in close proximity aswell so getting around from the hotel isn't an issue and if you are a fan of the Netflix show 'Emily in Paris' which my wife is there are plenty of filming locations near to the hotel as much of the filming was done in and around the Latin Quarter.|All in all this was an excellent 2 night stay and we would have no hesitation in going back to the hotel whenever we visit...
Read moreWe had a wonderful honeymoon experience at Hotel Atmospheres. The staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating, even providing a bottle of wine for our first night of our honeymoon! The room and shared spaces were always absolutely spotless. I think it would be hard to beat the location. We were there for 9 nights and did not get remotely tired of exploring the Latin Quarter. There is no shortage of both activities and incredible restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk, plus there's a metro station 2 minutes away. Hotel Atmospheres is a perfect hub from which to explore the city! Breakfast is also a high point at Hotel Atmospheres. It was run so efficiently in a beautiful space with a great variety of food options.||The room (we had a standard queen room) was lovely, with a small but serviceable bathroom, a relatively large shower, and a very comfortable bed. We had a balcony room and it was so nice to step out and see the bustling street below! One note about the room is that there were no hooks to really hang anything. It was a very rainy stay, so we had to just drape our raincoats over ottomans, etc to try to allow them to dry. Minor thing that should not dissuade you, but made the room a little less comfortable.||A few recommendations for nearby restaurants/stores:|- La Maison d'Isabelle (2 minute walk) for award winning croissants as well as delicious "baguette tradition" and patisserie.|- Right next door, Fromagerie Laurent Dubois (2 minute walk) for an amazing cheese selection!|- Le Cedre (7 minute walk) - fantastic Lebanese food (especially the shawarma) run by a very kind, friendly team|- Respiro (5 minute walk) - very small/cozy Italian restaurant with some of the best pizza I've had in a while! Reservation recommended, although they were kind enough to fit us in on a rainy night when we didn't have one :)|- Aaapoum Bapoum (9 minute walk) - super cool (and giant) comic book/manga shop! Had rare prints of handmade zines, etc. Just really neat to explore.||Anyway, thank you Hotel Atmospheres for providing such a...
