Came to stay here for 3 nights over Valentines day. The staff were really lovely and willing to help/inform of anything we needed. The first thing that wasn't too great was the lady asking if i still needed the champagne i asked over email. Considering this was a surprise trip (I mentioned in the email) and my partner was standing right there, it was a bit awkward that she asked in front of him. The hotel is actually really tiny but it did have everything you needed there with even breakfast (14 euros each) if you wanted to. You had to leave the key at the hotel every time you leave which I never understand why.
Its definitely a 3 star hotel and I feel like Paris in general is overpriced for what you get, paying nearly 200 euros per night for this hotel. We got a room on the 5th floor (room 52) which has a nice view but unfortunately not on the side of the rising sun so the balcony was in shade all day.
The first thing I realised was that the room absolutely smelt of bleach when we got in so bad that we had to air it out. The room is small but that didnt bother us too much. The booking said a double bed but it was actually 2 singles put together and I kept falling in the hole during the night. Over all the room had absolutely no sound proofing so we could hear the vacuuming in the morning and people showering at night and the street noises of the busy road below. Both me and partner slept badly the whole time.
Considering we came in February it would have been good to have a radiator that could be adjusted to provide more heating, as well as a radiator in the bathroom for drying towels. The shower had good pressure though and provided soap. Overall the room was okay and the cleaner came every day, even when we put the do not disturb sign when we were sleeping...
The location is really good for food and drinks but for touristy bits the only thing we had close ish by was Notre Dam so for everything else we walked or took the scooters. Eiffel Tower about an hour walk away but it was a lovely walk by the canal so we didnt mind. Wouldn't stay here again but a great trip in Paris...
Read moreWe had an unpleasant experience with this hotel while traveling through Europe in August 2012. Our flight out of Barcelona into Paris got canceled, so that our travel plans got totally messed up. It was the same day we had bookings for stay at this Parisian hotel. We called the hotel and informed them of the change in our travel plans owing to 'unforeseen' circumstances. The representative (Emmanuel) who talked to us, said he understood the problems we were facing and the hotel would most likely issue a refund. He asked us to call them next morning when the reservation desk was open. That gave us some respite while we spent the night at Barcelona airport, however we were in for a shock when we called the hotel the next morning. The hotel staff asked us to have the travel site we made the reservations through call the hotel for camcellation. However, when we had the travel site rep call the hotel for cancellation, the hotel flat out refused to cancel. A guy named Manny (sic) picked up the phone and flat out refused to entertain us. We kept trying for days later, but nothing worked the hotel was not willing to make any compromises. We made it to Paris 2 days later and we asked them to consider honoring our past reservation for new dates, but NO, this hotel just won't budge. We ended up losing like $400 in the process, but learnt a lesson about Parisian hospitality, and mean nature of this Parisian establishment. I have never experienced something like this in the US, having a hotel charge my card before we checked in. It's sad how the hospitality industry in Europe takes it's patrons for a ride. Everywhere you go you find pathetic establishments like this hotel which would do anything to screw you out of your hard earned money. Good luck dealing with...
Read moreWe arrived to the hotel at 8 am from traveling all night long from the US. We knew that the check in time was not until 3, so we left our stuff in the baggage room and went to go get something to eat. We were fine with our room not being ready as the check in time policy for this hotel is 3 PM, but we came back around 1130 just to check and see if they possibly had a room ready for us since we were exhausted from traveling overnight. The man at the front desk notified us that our room still was not ready and that it would at least be a couple hours. We were so tired from being up all night, so we decided to sit in the lobby to rest and wait for our room. During this time, we saw two other families come in and were able to check in their room with no problem. That was a little frustrating to us considering we had been waiting for almost 5 hours at this point. When we finally got into our room, we found that the lights in the hallways leading to the rooms on our floor (5) were completely out and stayed this way for the duration of our trip. We had to use our flashlights on our phones to even see where we were going. This is a safety issue in my opinion and needs to be addressed. The room also had a very unpleasant musty smell, and it was very hot during the night which kept us from getting proper sleep. The only reason I’m even giving this hotel 2 stars is because of the location-That is the only positive thing I can say...
