I had messaged before my stay to ask if I could be near a lift, as my mobility was poor. When I arrived, Valerie said there were two available, one on the ground floor, and one on the first. I didn’t even look at the first floor one, as the ground floor one was spacious for Paris, with plenty room for my walking aid. It was spotlessly clean, with tea making facilities and toiletries provided. Perfect. It was only a bit later that I noticed I was in Room 100, which a previous reviewer had branded ‘dreadful’! The room does overlook what seems to be an area for potting plants, so maybe that was the problem. My only slight issue was the shower was more of a wet room, and a larger person might have had trouble. Vending machines provided coffee, water, and snacks, and bottles of champagne and rosé wine were available from reception. The sweets at reception were a nice touch, as were the madeleines when I was leaving.|I couldn’t comment on breakfast, as I didn’t have it in the hotel, and by coincidence I had been reading a book called ‘ Pancakes in Paris’, and saw that the American diner, Breakfast in America’ in the book was next door to the hotel. I had to sample the gigantic stack of pancakes! |The staff are a great asset to this hotel, very helpful and welcoming, I have stayed in hotels in Paris which were more expensive than this one, and certainly not as good.and I would now stay there every time I visit Paris....
Read moreI travelled to Paris with my 10 year old daughter and we stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Minerve. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady on arrival and she offered us a secure area to store our luggage, as we were very early for check in. The room we were given was quite small, but very clean and had a nice size bathroom, with a shower over bath and a wall mounted hair dryer. There was a safe in the room and also facilities for making tea and coffee. The room was a little noisy due to it being an old building, abd we could hear the plumbing of the adjecent rooms quite loudly if they flushed their toilet or had a shower. But we were so exhausted at night after walking around Patmris non stop it wasnt a big issue. The beds were VERY comfortable! Nice soft bedding, plenty of pillows, extra blankets in the cubpoard. We slept very well and woke feeling refreshed. The double windows opened out onto the Rue Des Ecoles and gave a nice view over the street below. There were plenty of nice cafes and restaurants around serving good quality food. There was a short walk to the nearest Metro station, and several bus stops. The cathedral Notre Dame was a 10 minute walk away, as was the Pantheon. We were very happy with the hotel and would...
Read moreI enjoyed most of my stay with Hotel Minerve. On arrival, I received warm, welcoming service. The rooms were very clean, had a fresh smell and the beds were comfortable. The location was wonderful near the Latin Quarter but close enough to the Seine and for nice walks through Paris. Unfortunately the service on departure was well below the standard I expected. I left my bags with the hotel and when I arrived to collect them, I politely asked if the staff member, Sasha could check the room we had been staying in as I may have left an item. The staff member abruptly refused, was extremely rude to me and simply shrugged her shoulders and offered me no way of checking the room. She was dismissive and had a negative attitude which severely impacted my overall enjoyment of the stay. She then said I should have mentioned this when I left. This comment was unhelpful given I had forgotten an item unintentionally. The service was vastly different from the rest of the service and based on that experience, I would not recommend this hotel or choose to stay again. Customers should be able to ask staff to check a room for an item, with the consent of the room owner of course without being...
