I don't know where to begin to describe Bonvivant's incredible experience the two times I have been there. First, I highly recommend having a reservation because this place is always full no matter what day of the week you choose to go.
I have tasted several plates there and I must say that nothing has disappointed me or even left me indifferent. The first time, I chose the white wine by the glass from Domaine Le Rocher des violettes which was excellent. As the main course, we opted for the côte de porc pannée and the daurade royale. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we chose the brioche façon pain perdu au caramel beurre salé as well as the crémeux chocolat blanc Valrhona, Mangue de Sicile et Maracuja
The second time we went, we chose a bottle of red wine which was recommended to us by the waiter and which perfectly complimented what we had ordered (Le Quai à Raisins Syrault). As starters we went for the mixed charcuterie board as well as the bone marrow which were wise choices as both starters were amazing. As a main course we wanted the lamb but it was no longer available so we went for the Simmental prime rib and we didn't regret our choice as it was delicious. Finally, for dessert, we ate the carrot cake as well as the brioche again and once again we were delighted.

Read moreWhat a gem in the heart of the Latin Quarter! Bonvivant captures the true essence of a French bistro with a modern twist on classic French cuisine. The atmosphere is lively and authentically French, and the staff is incredibly welcoming, warm, dynamic, and witty. The wine list is like diving into a dictionary, incredibly extensive with amazing selections including biodynamic wines and wines from passionate vignerons—a true treasure trove for wine enthusiasts. The appetizers are simply divine, especially the country terrine and rillettes, perfect for nibbling before your meal. The starters are incredibly flavorful; I especially loved the eggs mayonnaise and the duck heart in persillade with mushrooms—a delightful discovery! For mains, fresh seasonal dishes with high-quality meats steal the show, accompanied by mouthwatering homemade sauces like mustard and mayonnaise. Special mentions to the breaded pork chop with maple syrup mayonnaise and the entrecôte—absolute perfection! Don't miss out on the sharing plates like the Normandy Tomahawk, homemade fries, and salad—an absolute delight! And to end on a sweet note, the Brioche French toast with salted caramel, flambéed with rum, is a dream for true Bonvivants. The restaurant truly lives up to its name—Bonvivant is a paradise for those who appreciate good food, great wine, and a lively atmosphere. I always come back (here are a few photos of some of the seasonal dishes I have tried over my visits). A...
Read moreThe vibe was nice, the food was good , but service could be better. Went to the restaurant around 5pm and a server told me they only had limited menu available until 7pm dinner them. When I said I’ll be back at 7pm, she said they are fully booked before I even finished the sentence. When I asked if I can sit at the bar at least , she said yes. Came back around 6:40pm, started ordering, servers are friendly, but I was seated at the far right side of the bar and servers kept putting dirty cups and plates next to me on both sides as I was the only person sitting at the bar and apparently it doesn’t seem they sit guests there. No one offered me to move to a table even thought it was only 1/3 full inside throughout dinner, and the table next to the bar only had beers without food and potentially spent less. Just getting tired of restaurants pretending to be so booked all the time. Could have better dining experience for...
