Soap and the City — Local services in Paris

The products are lovely. One of my nieces requested their products for a Christmas gift. Am I so glad not to send it directly to her.

The box arrived with brown duct tape all around with some numbers marked on the side. I carefully removed it but the box was all messy. The “Pearls” were in the plastic box, wrapped in a newspaper with again duct tape all around. I asked if it was their standard parking, they responded it was not to move & damage the products but the product wrapped in the newspaper WAS actually moving in the box as they didn’t fill in the gap. Just wrapped it with the newspaper. I am disappointed with their response as well.

Honestly it was like I ordered a second-hand product. I am so relieved that I did not order directly send it to my niece. Even with the eco-friendly companies products, I didn’t receive the fancy soap products over 40 euro in newspaper and duct tapes.

Unless upon a request, I will not purchase here again, especially as a gift. If you are ordering for a gift, do make sure you get it first so that you can rewrap it or at least “not wrap” with the newspaper like a second-hand.

TO STORE'S REPLY addition: Given that your store specializes in stylish soaps, perfumes and such, I had anticipated a higher standard of packaging and shipping, especially considering the image and branding your products convey. Clearly I suggest a client to prepare a gift box apart if they with to offer the product.

I understand that the product was unaffected (though the newspaper wrapped but there was a gap and it moved quite a bit), and my intention is not to raise a complaint about the item itself. I just wanted to highlight this issue as it may impact other customers who are considering your products as gifts during this holiday seasons.

I hope this feedback is helpful in maintaining the high standards I associate...

I had googled "French Soap" while I was in Paris and found this store. My husband and I made a special trip and it did not disappoint! The soaps were great and the man who was working was so knowledgable and friendly. He explained that the soaps were natural and then went on to explain the benefits of some of the soaps (ie. Dead Sea soap). He also pointed out the different product features as I was looking around. It was refreshing to have someone so passionate about their product!

My favorite shop in Paris! Visited from the US in December and had the most wonderful conversation with the owner who told me about having lived in the same city in the NL that my son will likely attend university in next year. The nicest person I met in all of Paris. Also the soap in incredible and I desperately wish I bought more. We just finished our second bar of soap this week. Every morning it reminded me of our amazing vacation in Paris. I can’t wait to come back...
