We had a great tour this morning with Michael. he was so friendly and knowledgeable, putting all three of us at ease right away. We got to sample bougatsa and spanakopita to start off the day. He especially took us to small family owned businesses that support the community, which we really appreciated. Hearing the stories behind how the food is made, and where it is grown is the kind of thing you can’t discover on your own. We sampled olive oil, cheese and cured meat from several different shops that have been owned in one family for generations. One of the highlights for me was also sampling a variety of different honeys, all collected from different locations by the same family company, who move their bees around to follow whatever flowers or saps are in season. The necessary coffee break was taken with some good education on coffee in Greece. We also tried a variety of olives, some fresh feta made in the shop, then, had a great walk-through the meat and fish markets, stopping to have some freshly grilled chicken skewers. We toured a spice shop, stopping to smell a number of different dried herbs, and learned how one wall was devoted to medicinal herbs and teas. We sampled some nuts and tangerines, which were in season. We finished up by having a beautiful lunch of mezze and ouzo. We have already returned to some of the shops to make purchases, and plan to do more in the coming days. I highly recommend this tour and found it very much worth the cost. Even though it was a bit of a splurge for us, I would do it again without question.

This tour was absolutely FANTASTIC! I’m not really a tour type of person because I travel solo most of the time and I generally opt to explore places on my own whim. But I knew a food tour would be essential here and wasn’t something I wanted to figure out in my own . This tour took me to places I wouldn’t have known or appreciated on my own, and it gave me information I wouldn’t have thought to seek. Plus, delicious food and wonderful new people! Michael was the guide for the group and was so kind, informative, funny and very down to earth. I loved this! Totally worth it! Do it!

In Athens and want to spend the day eating Greek food, but need to get your steps in? Here is your answer!! An exceptional tour led my the kindest friendliest guide, Mike. The knowledge he has of the food, its history is incredible. We sampled such a selection of delicacies it would be difficult to pick a favourite but the feta pie, chicken skewers and calamari were without doubt the best I’ve ever had. Watching the Greek coffee being made was amazing. Happily purchased olive oil, honey and spread to take home and went back the next day for some sweet treats (Greek delight, yum!). The great thing about this tour is that it takes you places you probably wouldn’t as a tourist, introduces you to food you might not usually try and gives you the confidence to go back and live like a local for a short time. We were very fortunate to have great people on the tour with us, honestly felt like we’d known them for ages when the final meal was finished I think over 4 hours later. All the people we met along the way were so friendly. But without doubt the best thing about this tour is Mike and the lovely Rachel who I was fortunate enough to meet also. I was only in Athens because of this food tour, having watched them on A New Life In The Sun I decided I must book and go and experience it for myself. They didn’t let me down. Thank you 😊

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a phenomenal food tour in Greece, and it exceeded all my expectations. The pace of the tour was perfectly balanced, not too slow to become tedious, yet not too fast to miss out on the rich cultural experiences. It was nothing short of amazing!

Our guide, Michalis, played a pivotal role in making this food tour an unforgettable experience. His passion for Greek cuisine and the local culture was palpable, and it added a layer of authenticity to the entire journey. Michalis went above and beyond to ensure that our group felt engaged, comfortable, and, most importantly, well-fed.

What stood out the most was Michalis's genuine care for our group. He took the time to explain the historical significance behind each dish, providing a deeper understanding of the culinary landscape. His warm personality and infectious enthusiasm created a delightful atmosphere throughout the tour.

The selection of food venues showcased the diversity and richness of Greek cuisine. From savory olives to sweet baklava, every stop was a culinary adventure. The attention to detail in curating this gastronomic experience was evident, and it truly reflected the essence of Greek flavors.

I highly recommend this food tour to anyone looking for an immersive and delectable journey through Greek cuisine. The combination of a well-paced itinerary, a knowledgeable guide like Michalis, and the exquisite food selection makes this tour a five-star experience. Kudos to the organizers for creating such a memorable and enjoyable culinary adventure in...
