If you're looking for a great night out with friends, Juan Rodriguez Bar is a must.

While Athens has a wide variety of themed bars to check out, Juan Rodriguez is unique in its own right.

The vibe is laid back and the music is almost always on point. We visited with friends on a Sunday evening and the DJ was spinning the coolest music all night long. Seriously, we were so impressed with the selection. A+++

The bar has an outdoor seating area where most people hangout until around 11:30-12 and then people start venturing inside of the bar to dance and drink some of the more unique cocktails on offer.

The bartenders are attentive and provide damn good service considering that once it hits midnight the place is popping and absolutely packed.

If I could rate with a minus I would do so. The reason is a very simple and quick story. I work in advertising and that day (the day I went for the first and last time to that bar) I have a business meeting in a company near by. On my way to my meeting, I really need to go to the toilet. I stop at this bar and I ask if I can use the toilet. I am nicely dressed and I have a laptop bag with me. In front of the barman I see a guy in his late 60's -the owner. He asks "will you order something?" I answer "no, I just need the toilet, if I may". He says " we don't have a toilet" in a very rude manner. We, the Greeks, don't behave like that. Nestled in a burgeoning neighborhood, Juan Rodriguez Bar's lively atmosphere, seems to capture the city's upward trend. As you approach, you're greeted by an inviting outdoor seating area, nestled in a quiet street. The interior is a visual treat, a testament to good taste and a love for the unique.

The cocktails, once, they were the stars of the show, but lately, they've lost some of their shimmer. The last visit left a taste of disappointment.
