Very nice, brandnew & modern hotel. Ideally located: Psiri restaurant area just around the corner, Monastiraki 5 min walk, Acropolis and all other area's of interest in walking distance. Easy to reach from airport with metro. VERY friendly staff!!! Rooms were kept very clean. Some other nice-to-knows: -Excellent bar-tender who is happy to let you try different liquors (Metaxa with salty caramel!). Do try the signature cocktails, they are amazing! -The breakfast consist of two parts: first you get a basket with a croissant, sesame breadsticks and toast, accompanied by home-made jams and chocolate spread. With it comes water, fresh orange juice and coffee or tea. Then you get a menu and you can choose a 'main course', f.i. Greek omelette, eggs benedict, croque monsieur, fried eggs on toast with fresh tomatoes and manouri cheese, greek yogurt with fresh fruits, fruit salad and many more. You won't go hungry untill late afternoon. -You can also have dinner in the hotel. There are smaller dishes as starters, but also main courses and desserts. Everything is fresh, modern and very tasty. We tried the salmon roll with cream cheese, the black focaccia with tsalafouti, fig and cherry tomatoes and the pasta with marinated pork, porccini mushrooms, thyme and white wine: all delicious! The only downside: the hotel is located at a bit grimm looking, small street. But just around the corner is the nice Iroon square.

My wife and I had a great time at the Artist as part of our honeymoon. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The location was great: you’re a block away from both a touristy open area with restaurants and also from a bohemian hole in the wall style area where open air rock concerts can happen on weekends. Not to mention it’s within walking distance from the first major sights worth visiting. If you stay at the Artist, you’ll have a nice breakfast and then you’re set to go (they actually have a box of jams and honey for each table, it’s great). In regards to the room and bathroom, everything was always clean and comfortable. It’s a nice modern hotel (not a huge one, and that’s great), and you can tell there were brains behind the design of the place. A nice use of space, garden, rooftop, two entrances, etc. Great trendy design. If you’re from any of the Americas, the only thing you might feel is that the air conditioning might not be as fast acting as back home, especially as the athenian heat provokes you during the summer. But hey, it’s like that all over Europe. We would definitely stay there again.

Truly can’t think of anything I’d change. Lovely staff that greeted us with a welcome lemonade, and for some reason I got a free bottle of wine because I’m a hotel.com VIP? Score! The location is perfect - in a bustling tourist area but felt completely local. On a side street near winding alleyways of fantastic restaurants and bars that are really cool, not tourist bait. Five minute walk to the subway and an east ride to the airport. The rooftop bar is lovely, drinks are affordable (for a hotel bar?!), and we were floored by the breakfast that is included. This is a full on, several course, serviced breakfast with incredible food (try the Cretan cheese with pink peppercorn omelette!). This is now my go to stay in Athens. I’m mad it’s too late to cancel my hotel reservation on my way back from the islands, because I know it won’t compare. It’s the perfect balance of having a local experience while still being close to everything, set inside a boutique hotel. Stay here!

The hotel has a rooftop bar located on the top floor. When the music is on you can hear it on all floors. So there was a party going on and loud music was playing. I called the reception at 00:00 kindly asking to put the volume down. The answer I received was that one of the owners had a party and they asked me if I could bear the music until 01:00. I did say ok. At 1:00 am I called again since the loud music and the party was still going on. They promised to turn the volume down but nothing happened. At 1:30 I had to go down to the reception and ask for the manager in order to complain. After my complaint, the music eventually stopped at 01:45. This indicates that the management clearly shows no respect for their clients. Since it is a small hotel with poor soundproofing loud music should not be permitted especially after 23:30.

Since I was on a business trip I haven t had the chance to rest at all because of the loud music and that was pretty sad bearing in mind that it is a cozy hotel.

I hope the management will start treating their clients with more respect.

On a positive note, the hotel is clean, and the location is convenient. about 10 mins walk from Monastiraki metro.

Probably I will not be recommending this hotel bearing in mind that there are lots of other decent hotels around the area of Monastiraki some of which are value for...
