I am going to be dreaming about this place for the rest of my life and will voraciously hope that it is still around by the time we're able to return to Athens! The food was absolutely phenomenal--to the point where we ended up returning for dinner again on our last day in Greece (we flew back to Athens for a night to fly back to the States). Stellar service--the first time we went, I believe it was the owner walked us through the menu and gave us suggestions on what to order, based on what was the most recently baked. We had the feyrouz wrap, the roostic pie and the leek rezene pie the first time we were there. All so delicious--just cannot get over the spices and the flavors. It's hard to decide whether the savory or the sweets were our favorites--happily they have a bakery across the way and the Cognac baklava was truly one of the highlights of everything we ate the entire trip. I'm just going to have to set about trying to recreate it because it was so unbelievably good and I don't know when I will be back! For many reasons I'm considering moving to Greece permanently anyway, but access to this food is definitely high on the list of reasons to make...
Read more4.5 stars Feyrouz offers a refined take on Levantine street food, serving a bakery case of savory wraps and pides with creative fillings. The Feyrouz Lahmatzun was a wrap made with a soft, thin flatbread topped with minced beef & herbs, along with a filling of Feyrouz Salad (red/white cabbage, lettuce, carrots, peppers, herbs), babaghanoush, and yogurt. The Roostic Peinirli was a boat-shaped pastry with a filling of wined rooster, mozzarella, and onions, topped with homemade sauerkraut. My favorite item was the Surki, a boat-shaped pie made with a whole wheat dough, containing a sweet, salty, spicy filling of Syrian soft cheese mixed with tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and spices, sprinkled with black sesame on top. Overall, the wraps and pastries here were all decent though they were all reheated and would have been better fresh. Finally, we had the Mixed Salad, which came with both the Colorful Feyrouz Salad and Antiochian Tabbouleh (couscous mixed with herbs), topped with a dollop each of babaghanoush and yogurt, making for a nice...
Read moreMixed feelings about the overall experience. The food was quite nice overall, with the lentil soup being the most memorable. However, there were some careless aspects to the service and the seating on tall chairs wasn’t comfortable.
Staff was really friendly and thoughtful. They informed us that my order would take some time to make, which was fine, but even so, they came out and gave a little something on the house as an apology for the wait. That item was really tasty, too.
Unfortunately, we experienced a couple of hiccups. We realised that one order didn’t go through because of a communication issue, but that wasn’t a big deal because we were able to order something else that came quicker. The other problem was that they got my item wrong (I think they were looking at the picture of a different pie instead of the name of the one I wanted), so after all that waiting, I didn’t get what I wanted.
As well, extra paper menus would be convenient. You can access a PDF menu on your phone, but my parents find it easier to read from a...
