Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Lalli was waiting for us in the designated area, on time. We introduced ourselves, chatted for a bit, then were on our way.

The tour is curated to allow participants a chance to explore traditional Icelandic cuisine, from what the early settlers (read: vikings) ate til modern day Icelanders enjoy.

In addition to the food, Lalli spoke about the history, pointing out several landmarks, and photos of early Icelandic inhabitants. The tour really came alive as he spoke about his personal experiences in Iceland, and how things have changed over the years.

There was plenty to eat, and despite that, our guide was more than ready to ensure we got more food if we still hungry (spoiler: we were very full).

We lucked out and the tour was just my partner and I, which made the experience even more intimate. Perhaps Funky Food Tours may consider offering a small private tour option to allow for this.

Every visitor to Iceland should make this tour one of the first...

Lalli was an incredible storyteller, a generous and knowledgeable guide and the small size of the group made it feel like I was visiting a friend.

A perfect day-one activity.

This tour takes you to the kind of places past the city center blocks you can find on your own, and is a great way to be taken to great places, slightly off the beaten path.

Lalli's story is compelling, follows a narrative, and somehow takes you from the first settlers to the current progressive city it is over the course of a lovely 3ish hour walkabout. He is funny, intellectual, honest, and colorful about the part, optimistic about the future, and answered all questions with care and consideration.

The stop in both the sculpture garden and the famous hot dog place shows the fabulous range of experiences, and this tour provided great cultural and directional information I valued throughout...

Small tour sizes. Friendly supportive knowledgable staff. Answered my numerous email questions in a timely manner. Know their country and excited to share with me I lost baggage at airport. Flustered. Filed my claim. 2 hours later, I came out of customs and I saw my name on a card for pick up van service from airport WAITED ALL THAT TIME FOR ME. He listened to my frustrating journey. Turned out my driver was "I love Reykjaviks " owners father. He Gave me a "private tour with historical facts " until he dropped me off at my guesthouse. He then revealed his true identity . I had some travel vouchers in my checked luggage. Started tour that afternoon. The owner delivered documents to my guesthouse!I Re assuring me my holiday will turn out OK after all. :-) LOVE THIS COMPANY and will use again when I return to this magical country. My regret, I was not able to stay...

Taking this walking tour was an incredible way to kick off my trip to Reykjavik! Our guide, Lalli, was not only a knowledgeable history buff, but also a genuinely funny and engaging storyteller. It was clear he was passionate about sharing Iceland's unique history and culture. From tales of Vikings to stories of modern-day Iceland, the tour brought the city's past and present to life. I learned so much more than I ever could have from a guidebook. Walking through the charming streets of Reykjavik while hearing Lalli's fascinating anecdotes about the city's landmarks was truly special. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for Reykjavik. It's a fantastic value, and I guarantee you'll leave with a newfound love for this city and its captivating history.
