We picked this company for a variety of reasons. They had a smaller boat, family feel, offered warm clothing, etc. I never expected the lies, creepiness, and poor service. Last minute, they informed us they were pawning us off to a completely different company!!! This is not what I paid for! What if I did not check my email?! I wish I didn’t get the email because it gets worse from there. It was pouring rain and completely cloudy with NO chance of seeing the lights but since they wanted to keep our money, they would not give us a refund and we had no choice but to go out on this outdated impersonal ship. It went like 10 minutes into the harbor (still close to the light pollution from the city) and just sat there. Then a very very creepy guy kept awkwardly talking into the loudspeaker about his family, chanting the happy birthday song just in case somebody had a birthday, and reading poetry he wrote. This was a horrible horrible experience and the trip should have been canceled!! Do not use this company, they will push you off onto other operators. When I emailed them after to ask for a refund, they said that weather can change and they didn’t know. That is...
Read moreGreat company, we were booked on a northern lights tour which was unfortunately cancelled due to the weather. We were offered a refund or to reschedule but as it was out last day we were given a whale watching tour with one of the sister company’s instead, at such short notice and no extra cost! The boat was extremely comfortable and well equipped and the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat staff would frequently pop round to make sure nobody was suffering from any seasickness too. Unfortunately the whales were a little shy and we only managed to spot some seals, porpoises and one Minke Whale but as they said on the boat, these are wild animals and they don’t have a magic remote control to make them appear. Despite not seeing many marine animals, the views and overall experience more than made up for this, and we were also offered the opportunity to go on another tour if we ever visit Iceland again. Would...

Booked this trip through Viator and reached about 10 minutes before the scheduled departure. Although the host recommends arriving 30 minutes early, that’s not really necessary — arriving a bit before the time is perfectly fine.
The onward journey takes around 1 hour 45 minutes, and the return about 1 hour 15 minutes. Our guide, Joe, made the experience lively with his witty and informative commentary, sharing fascinating insights about whales and Icelandic marine life. His humor really added charm to the trip!
Spotting whales in their natural habitat was truly a special moment. However, the return journey can feel a little monotonous, especially after the excitement of whale sightings. Still, the views of the open ocean and Reykjavík’s coastline make it worthwhile.
Overall, a well-organized and memorable experience for nature and wildlife enthusiasts...
