On my visit to Reykjavik I saw this monument from afar and it looks very interesting since I love history and monuments i had to visit . The way there isn't very clear and ended up on the wrong path 2 times because I didn't check on the GPS and ended up on the wrong side of the port ,but then I found the right path and finally found it ! It's mesmerizing for its shape and even more for the small cabin on top with dried codfish ( don't worry it does not smell) This mound is a art piece from a artist called "Ólöf Nordal" it's a creation with serenity and meditation in mind . This monument can been seen from the boat art piece is located . Access to wheelchairs is easy around the mound only ,going up is partially impossible ,a out parking space I'm not sure because I haven't seen any parking spot .

Having recently visited Þúfa, I found it to be a serene and captivating destination nestled in Reykjavik's Fossvogur valley. Its unique cone-shaped structure provides stunning panoramic views of the city, while the vibrant art installations and lush greenery create an atmosphere of tranquility and inspiration. Þúfa seamlessly merges art and nature, offering visitors like myself a chance to immerse in Iceland's rich cultural and natural heritage. My time at Þúfa was filled with moments of reflection and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. I highly recommend exploring Þúfa to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat amidst the urban bustle of Reykjavik.

Very interesting place, sort of makes you think. I have heard that it is an art installation which is very interesting to me. I can not imagine a meaning behind it however it is interesting to ponder. We arrived to the hill accidentally and walked to the top simply out of curiosity knowing nothing. The views of the city are very good but no more special than below the hill. I believe the cool part of this is the hill itself. It’s very picturesque and is starkly contrasted to the vast cityscape of the capital behind it. It does smell on top of the hill but once you get past that all is well.

[September 2021] A nice unexpected respite on Grandi harbor near the NW portion of the capital! Tucked away along the edge of the harbor past the numerous supermarkets and stores, the grassy dome also provides a short winding walkway up to the top, where an old fishing shed used for wind-drying fish shares the vantage point overlooking the water! I found it particularly quaint to have this callback to Iceland’s deep fishing roots against some of the more striking modernized features of the capital such as Harpa, which can be visualized across the water from the hilltop vantage point!

An unnatural hill with beautiful grass growing on its edges. A path leading along the ledge of a small slope leads to the top. The whole hill is located at the very end of the port, so being at the top we have the best view of the skyline, departing ships and the city. The only negative thing I can say is the rather ugly road from the city to this attraction. It leads through a concrete coast full of warehouses. You have to be prepared for about a 15-minute walk one way in a rather unpleasant area.

Þúfa is a hidden gem in Reykjavik, offering a unique blend of nature and art. This grass-covered hill, topped with a small wooden hut, provides a peaceful escape from the city and stunning views of the harbor. The walk up is gentle, and the sculpture itself is beautifully integrated into the landscape. It’s a simple yet profound experience, perfect for a quiet moment of reflection or a quick photo stop. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience something a little different in Reykjavik.
