Samsung and it's service center are running a major fraud and scam in India and this should be brought to the notice of govt authorities.
Sharing my experience of the scam below so it can help others. It's a long text. But, please go through it as it can help save thousands of your hard earned money and also the headache of dealing with Samsung:
First, I (and you are about to make) made a mistake by buying a Samsung phone. The phone is of pathetic quality and it developed issues well within the warranty period. Though the real problem was in the motherboard they never told us and kept it a secret. They kept replacing some or the other part only to waste our time till the warranty expires.
And as expected, as soon as the warranty expired, the same problem came up and they said it's a small problem and I got it fixed by paying 3000. Then two weeks later, the same problem came and they fixed it again (no idea what they did).
But, now three months later again the same problem came!! Can you believe it?! But, this time around since they knew the phone was well out of warranty, they brought up the original problem, the motherboard (which they hid from us, remember?), and quoted a whopping Rs. 8,000 to replace it!!
Meanwhile, I had spent 200rs inspection fees and 100rs delivery fee every time. So, add another 900 rs to total expenses.
So, if I had gone ahead with the motherboard repairs this time, in total they would have made 3,000+8,000+900=12,000 rs from me... which is the cost of a brand new phone these days!!! Samsung is making money of two phones by selling one phone.
But, I finally learnt that I was a victim of a scam and refused to get the motherboard fixed. I went for a new phone instead as it is risky to keep using this cheap Samsung phone and having a proper phone is important in an emergency situation.
