Craft Coffee Experience Centre - Ballygunge — Restaurant in Kolkata

Highly disappointed with the 2nd outlet in Dec-Jan. (2024-2025)

I have visited twice or thrice in last 40 days, Two separate occasion of disappointment in service & kitchen nexus to sham the regular, patient supportive customer. (Always there is a breakfast menu issue). and early 1st half timing and opening time.

I have met the executive chef & operations manager, once over a short discussion of relavant things to the cafe.

The First Incident I'd like to mention - Where the cafe was running during heavy civil work was going on, (the staffs there call him "JIJA JI"). He was engaged in getting the wall repair & paint work done during the peak time of holiday noon, while people were seated inside & mentioning that the bamboo ladder that was swinging around by the labour missed my head once. (I was seating near their so called chocolate experience section). I changed my seat twice post that, so I could possibly eat my meal, so I went outside. The timing of the meal, coffee & desert is always off. (like once I ordered a double chocolate cake, they packed a cheesecake, I informed it to the concerned supervisor boy "Chanchal") Yet, all the delay & seat changing, and always unavailable breakfast menu, wether on time or not. (These serves never came with the menu or the bill for further service, had to get up & ask the bill for as the group of 4 staff - two guys & girls, were happily chatting behind the bar as I kept waiting for my due bill). Once I asked for the bill, they were looking for the CARD MACHINE, which was right in-front of them. PS. That Day Light Was Cut Off Due To Unpaid Bills In Their Meter - I waited patiently for 30mins before they called me back as I was leaving.

(That day, I gave it a leeway for one of incident).

Second Incident Dated 29th Jan, I was seated since 9:30 - My order was quickly given, I took the menu myself from the lady (Jyoti I guess) as they don't wear tags most of the time. At 9AM cafe is open and no-one is around, Again pancakes were not available because head chef never prepares anything, or the batter & also recipe is not know to the person, they don't even the menu, they mention chicken ham in eggs benedict & more, yet I get is poached baked egg with no ham only wedges and toast bread with some zucchini and broccoli. Just to pass it as the customer must be unaware what he or she is eating. I got my order around 10:10. The Big Problem Here Is Customer Inconvenience & Lack Of Experience Of The Staff, Sell No Matter What & Leave The Customer In Awe Of Their Excuses & Sorry Calls (which I'll come to next). Again they don't know how to handle the card machine, so to make it simple I did was UPI payment. I went twice inside to inquire about my order around 9:58-10:00, I was baffled to see them have breakfast before the customer who is waiting to be served.

Please check your cameras to match the incidents. as per my order "DATA".

Also, once I they asked if something was wrong, I just simply told them not to worry, I would like to inform to the main management in Kolkata, directly.

I get a breach of my private no. (consider it ethically a data or info). which I get a personal call from, "Mr.Chanchal" who was not present on the site, yet called me while I was in the car on the road. To inquire about the incident from his "PERSONAL NUMBER".

That means they have ACCESS - to the customers number. Secondly, if the inquiry was official - it should have been from Craft Coffee. Why Is the staff Nexus, is calling from their Private Number? (it could be termed as a breach of privacy "LEGALLY").

I am highly upset this is my last visit to any of the Crafts Across the two states.

Incident happened at Craft Coffee - Patna,...

Our recent dining experience was largely exceptional, with a few minor notes. The overall impression was one of high quality food and truly outstanding service, even amidst a high rush hour.

Food Highlights: The menu offered a diverse selection, and most dishes surpassed expectations. The Chicken Roulade, customized with Garlic Mashed Potato and Sautéed Vegetable, was a definite highlight. The Honey Cappuccino and Craft Classic Blend provided excellent beverage options.

For dessert, the Choco Brownie Blend was a resounding success. The unique Force Meat Scotch Egg and Scotch Mushroom Antipasto With Cheese were also well-received, showcasing inventive culinary choices. The Ham Salami And Egg Pizza was a flavorful and satisfying option.

Another standout was the Roasted Spring Chicken In Mushroom Jus (half), also customized with Garlic Mashed Potato and Sautéed Vegetable, proving to be a delicious and well-prepared main course. The Mint Mojito was a refreshing accompaniment. Finally, the Spaghetti Aglio E Olio With Chicken was praised for its execution.

The Sole Disappointment: Regrettably, the Tiramisu was a letdown, failing to meet the high standards set by the other dishes.

Exceptional Service - A True Asset: Despite the restaurant being in its high rush hour, the service was truly commendable and significantly enhanced the dining experience.

A special mention goes to: Debobroto (Debu): He took our orders patiently and served with great efficiency and cordiality. His attentiveness during a busy period was particularly appreciated. Suraj: His cordial demeanor further contributed to the positive service experience. Rohit: The waiting queue was managed exceptionally well by Rohit, ensuring a smooth and organized flow for patrons. The contributions of the entire staff were noted and their collective efforts ensured a pleasant and efficient dining experience.

Management's Attention is Recommended: If the management is reading this review, it is highly recommended to acknowledge and appreciate the excellent service provided by Debobroto (Debu), Suraj, and Rohit. Their dedication and professionalism, especially during peak hours, are invaluable assets to the establishment.

In conclusion, while the tiramisu could use improvement, the overall quality of the food and the truly outstanding service make this restaurant highly recommendable. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, largely thanks to the...

I've been to this place twice before. 1st, on an invitation...reached a bit late so my host was waiting. Food was amazing and place was vibrant in the early evening hours. Bcoz of my lovely experience, next I took out few of my friends. The real experience began then....Service & Manpower. Substandard. As usual, the place was hustling with people...hence the Manpower Mngt had to go down. We waited for 20 min to find an appropriate sitting place for ourselves. Then the cleaner came to mop up the table after almost 10 min of our waiting. Thereafter a girl comes in to take order and shoots in and out, couple of times, to confirm whether the item which we proposed to order, was available. 15 min were spent in the process. Then after the order was finalised, she said that we have to wait minimum 30-40 min for our food to come on table. Well having no choice, we waited for the food. Almost 1½ hrs of waiting for food, in total, was bit to much for me. The food items & taste were excellent. Not a bit of complain there. But I vowed never to come back. Today, after tremendous insistence from my children, nearly a year from my last visit, much against my wish, we went for breakfast. But the story was the same. Place was full....wonderful for the owners. Same old Manpower problem. No one were to be found. Nobody at the reception or 1st floor. We couldn't understand where to sit. We waited on one table but the chairs were under the possession of Guests of the next table. We found one more empty table but uncleaned. We sat there waiting for a cleaner to come. She came after about 8-10 min of our waiting. Then came the same old story of ordering our pick and her uncertainty of the item's availability. 15 min were gone. Then finally when we settled with our items, she said the food will be served anytime between 30-45 min. I was like.....wondering why this place is OPEN & running...!! There's no service... no floor manager to look into this problem..on a Sunday morning, one from the mngt should have been present. Anyways this time I had the liberty, so I went away without ordering food. Now we are having our breakfast at Haldirams....next to Craft Coffee....at four times the service...
