I have been to East Coast at Madras Square multiple times and I was happy to know they have happened one within the heart of the city. Had been wanting to go here for some time. Got the opportunity on the day IPL 18 kicked off. We were a group of 8. 5 adults and 3 kids. The ambience was very good. Outdoor seating available by the pool and brightly lit seats indoors. Though the outdoor seating was awesome, only the tables indoors were able to accommodate the 8 of us.
We did a typical 4 course vegetarian meal, soups, starters, main course and desserts. Soups we tried all the vegetarian options that were available. Lemon Coriander, Carrot and roasted pumpkin and Tom Kha (a coconut milk based soup). Lemon coriander was the stand out dish. Tom Kha was also good. Carrot and roasted pumpkin was good but didn't wow us.
Starters we went with Honey Chilli lotus stem, paneer and green peas chop and vegetarian bengali platter. All 3 were good.
Main course we went with veg Hakka noodles, Mac and Cheese and veg Green Thai curry. Surprisingly the stand out dish was Mac and cheese. The other 2 were also good. All dishes had good portion size and we were able to easily share.
Desserts we went with only tiramisu and bluberry cheese cake. Both were good.
With IPL kicking off they had a huge screen by the pool to catch up the match live.
Was able to use 25% discount from District and the final bill came to 4065.
Overall we had a great time. The service was prompt and courteous. We truly enjoyed our time and would gladly...
Read moreThe Regency era meets modern times. A sleek elevator takes you through a small terrace garden by a pool yo a door that opens to a time gone by. The decor is classic with calm and muted colours. The furniture reminds one of Pride and Prejudice. The food is simple with a good selection of veggie and meat options. A lovely bar with fresh fruits and good drinks. The staff is very friendly and helps out with any queries. The wait time depends on the type of food you order. Anything between 5 to 15 minutes is very normal for them. Your choice of drinks are usually the first to arrive followed by the food. You can opt for a full 3 course meal with soups, appetizers and entrées or you can choose a nice meal bowl which is a good option if you are dining alone. The space itself is great for lone diners, groups of friends or date nights. They have a good selection of music with good food as a pairing. Ingredients are fresh, dishes are well planned and really well executed. Flavours are well balanced and true to the origin of the dish. Portion sizes are great and ordering for a group can be a lot more fun. There's a diverse menu with good options and a small selection of desserts made fresh everyday. These are not on the menu as everyday there are different sweet treats to choose from. Will definitely...
Read moreVisited here hoping for a nice birthday lunch. But was not to be. Menu looked great with many options, but they don’t know how to cook chicken. Momos had pink uncooked chicken😣 as well as not fully cooked chicken in the Kacha Launka Chicken Curry. Raw chicken is a health and safety issue, but I don’t think the staff were too concerned. On top no manager in the restaurant to address our concerns which was not fair for the price paid. On asking repeatedly, they gave me phone numbers to contact some people. On top of the unpleasant birthday lunch with my family and guests, Why should I as a customer have to ring your managers when someone should have been there already in person?! Staff had to be asked several times to help serve, and seemed to be just pawns placed to man the restaurant and had no actual control on anything. The management needs to be more present, with proper staff training, including a chef who ensures food that needs to be cooked, is cooked! A disappointment of a place. Doesn’t come even close to the actual Madras Square. Place looks fantastic! If you are visiting, just don’t...
