Canton House Irishtown — Local services in Dublin

Ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Beef. Both looked exactly the same when they arrived so I was confused. Kung Pao tasted like they used sweet and sour sauce. Was not appetizing. I called to ask if I got the wrong thing, they said, no we don't make ours spicy, it's kind of sweet. I asked why it has 2 chili peppers next to it on the menu, they said it's an old menu. You apparently have to ask for it to be spicy. They offered to remake it spicy, but I didn't want a spicy version of what they sent. Honestly this was just really disappointing. Rice was under seasoned. The beef dish was okay, but nothing to get excited about. Spring rolls were actually good, but had no dipping sauce and I only received 2 in one order which was €4.50 and that doesn't seem like a particularly good value.

I really, really wanted to like this.

The cashier order taker was impolite and quite rude at best. He did not offer me a receipt and handed my food as though it was a burden to him. There were no napkins or utensils to eat this takeaway food.

I watched him laugh and discuss the game with male customers and talk to me as though I were not an important part of the business. It was an unwelcoming atmosphere to say the least. I am visiting Ireland for the 1st time and with that type of treatment, I would not recommend this take away to anyone. Customer care and service are essential to any good place of business. I am disappointed in my experience.

Was passing by yesterday evening and went in for a Chinese takeaway for myself and husband couldn’t believe how the gentleman treated some lady in the shop he is seemly the owner , the lady asked him for something his words where shhh 1 minute one thing at a time I was in total shock in a aggressive manner. I will never return again and food wise was ok . Not great . Have had nicer Chinese . But even collecting my own food how rude he is and how he treated that lady was shocking, . I just hope your loyal customers always stay loyal because with an attitude so rude while been the owner of the Chinese I seriously question how you get any one in...
