Awful decision by this Dublin airport T2 lounge to leave it at the discretion of the self-called “manager” on the door (in the corridor) to determine who even gets to go inside to the desk. Today I got inside the door while my husband was showing the card at the door, so I could see how empty it was! That’s why they deny you before you peek in the door! But then our group of 2 was denied entrance again🤯. At 11am on a Friday. Ridiculous that we pay $650/yr on a premium Travel creditcard to primarily use airport lounges as freq flyers. But now this lounge have an arbitrary waiting list & decide when they want to, to just REFUSE ALL Priority Pass travelers to “keep space available ” for their reserved list. These are people who might only have booked a business class seat once but can bounce recurring travelers who pay annually for this facility. Why are they being prioritized?! T&C’s matter! It should be on a 1st-come basis or else it needs to be communicated on Priority Pass that Dublin airport has essentially NO facility for their cardholders. 3 out of the last 4 times we have arrived at these doors & been denied when they see the Priority Pass card. Also denied another elderly man with a cane who made the long trek down to the T2 downstairs lounge just to be denied with his P/Pass card. Not because it’s Full, but because they need to keep space for other travelers who may be coming later. We know Priority Pass cannot guarantee entry when lounge is full, and we accept that limitation, but this new arbitrary behavior in Dublin makes a Mockery of travelers who pay for a service & plan their airport journey & make their way through the airport to a lounge, only to be then told you are 2nd class guests who don’t deserve to enter for a quick 30mins before boarding, as we have a list of “reserved” guests that may decide to arrive later. (Ps. This special Reserved list of which you cannot be on, because airline doesn’t have business class on your route!) Priority Pass should inform their users that this lounge is now unlikely or only 25% dependable, & Dublin airport should be ashamed of themselves prostrating themselves to what they consider more elite travelers. The Lounge is supposed to be an available service while “space allows” - This new “reserved list” condition was not the terms & conditions I signed up for, - we are prepaid guests, & rightly very pissed off when a self important manager on the door decides like a bouncer who gets to go inside because you “only have...
Read moreI'm afraid this lounge will not receive a nice review. I had been traveling many hours with long delays already had to one more to come. I received a food voucher and was told i could use it anywhere in the terminal foot court. I was turned away from 3 places that infact did not accept the voucher and no one could tell me where. I found the lounge and sought out some advice about the voucher. I was not greeted with a smile or a kind face. When I enquired about the voucher, the concierge did tell me the only place she knew of was BurgerKing. I wanted to ask a couple more questions but she left me to help folks with passes into the lounge. No smiles, no I'm sorry you're having a bad day, no enjoy your next flight or holiday or your BurgerKing meal... Just walked away from me indicating our conversation was now finished - so you can mo e along.... Not very nice at all. I do admit I was not a bubbly happy Smiley person at the time due to my already too long travelling but the attitude I was met with really made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. A little understanding and compassion goes a long way!! It received 2 stars as the lounge looked clean bright and comfortable...
Read moreNo priority for the priority pass!
I have used this lounge 5 times in the last 18 months, despite attempting access over 20 times, resulting in a conversion rate of less than 25%. It seems that the lounge does not favour Priority Pass holders. Often, there is gatekeeping where staff inquire about my membership type, and if it’s Priority Pass, they claim there is no space available. However, airport members or those who paid to book a spot are welcomed.
A deceptive practice they employ is noting down names on a tablet or piece of paper, promising a call, which never happens. My name has appeared on that list at least 8+ times, yet I have never received a call. This is clearly a scam. On one occasion, after my name was noted, I waited for a call for 3 hours and I observed that the lounge was nearly 70% empty as I was waiting, yet I still did not receive a call.
It appears that the lounge does not want Priority Pass holders; only airport members and those willing to pay €26 per person to book are welcomed. I am considering canceling my Priority Pass soon, as this is my base airport and I travel almost 2 times every month...
