Good food and overall experience (3.5/5 green stars) The Fallow is in Terminal 2 of Dublin airport, after security and before US Preclearance. Sit down and order over the h’inturnet – it’s not that unusual, these days, for all those reviewers who dropped their monocles at the prospect. Actually I’m pretty sure it speeds up the whole process (glitches aside) and, sure enough, my order arrived in jig time. Servers were all very friendly on the two days I visited the place. On this occasion, I had a flat white, half a Guinness, and mac and cheese. Every item was delicious and it left me with a good taste in my mouth, leaving the auld sod. Reasonable prices too, for an airport restaurant. The mac and cheese was easily as good as a revered hipster mac-n-cheese spot in Oakland, California that charges more.

I’m also giving The Fallow 3.5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: • A reasonable number of vegetarian and vegan options. Adopting a plant-based diet is the top thing you can do to mitigate climate change, deforestation, animal cruelty, and food scarcity. (I allow myself some cheese now and then and this dish made it feel worth it). • Some ingredient sources are named, so there’s a reasonable amount of transparency. • At the top of the menu is this statement: “Sustainability and ethical sourcing is at the heart of everything we do.” I appreciate that there’s a vegan Beyond Meat alternative to the beef burger and several other vegan or vegetarian options (risotto, mac-and-cheese, and a grains-and-greens salad that I might get next time). Just to be clear: the footprint of beef is so high that the sustainability rating for the restaurant would increase quite a bit if they ditched the beef. If every inhabitant of Earth ate 1 lb of beef per week (the US average) then greenhouse gas emissions would go up by a third!

I haven't been here in years and I didn't like the food before. The place is now changed. It has a different name, the interior and the menu is completely different. I was very surprised how every plate that was coming from the kitchen actually looked nice. I'm usually not a big fun of the airport food. I think it usually has no taste and its overpriced but I must say I was surprised this time. I went for a house special breakfast (The Fallow Irish Breakfast) and it was really good. The dish looked very attractive and it was super tasty.. The bacon was so crispy. Probably the best bacon I've had in a while. The service was very quick, even though it looked busy enough. They have a very effective system in place. Take a table, scan a code on the table and order your food. Then they just bring it to you once is ready. No queues. Everyone at the bar was smiling and there was a good atmosphere between the staff. I got approached by a guy name Roberto. He was some kind of a manager or a supervisor. He asked me if everything's ok and if I need anything just to call him. We ended up chatting for a while. That was very nice. If you're in Dublin on Terminal 2 departures do check...

Awful staff , I sat down and ordered using the QR code. My tea which I ordered with milk , arrived with no Milk . I asked a guy beside me who was folding napkins by the food hatch for milk, and he told me that I would need to go to the bar and ask for milk . The bar was way down the back so I questioned him, and he told me that I would either need to ask somebody or go myself. I responded and said politely that I asked you . He then responded with attitude telling me the food and drinks were a different area. I wasn't asking for a glass of milk but simply the milk which should have come with my tea. . I then went to ask one of the waitreses, but he then interrupted and said he would get somebody . The original waitress returned with my milk and apologised for forgetting. She was lovely. He then returned a few minutes later and slammed a jug of milk on the table ,n said nothing and walked away . I presume he is a manager and he was wearing a black shirt and pants and not the same uniform as others . Absolutely didlsgusting treatment. If you need proof I was there between 8 and 8.30 and sitting in front of food area where cutlery was . I'm sure...

Sat down at one of the empty tables, it was sticky and unclean, so had to take care of that because no one around to ask and the bar staff pretty much ignored us, even though the female saw me clean the table! I ordered by scanning bar code on the table, so you prepay for food also. I ordered the last Irish Breakfast of my stay, and my daughter ordered Avocado, streaky bacon and poached eggs on toast without the nuts. Meals arrived via one of those robots and a female waitress to actually put it on the table. Both our meals arrived uncovered, my daughters arrived with nuts, and mine, the white and black pudding, the bacon and eggs were all barely room temperature and the pudding tasted like it was reheated and it was still cold. I had a slice of toast and my daughter had one bite of hers and we left both meals on the table with zero care about our concerns from staff. So disappointed with the food and the staff were not polite or engaging at all, so disconnected like robots themselves just performing a function with zero interpersonal skills. At least the robot said hello…
