landed spontaneously into ireland for 3 days , didnt have much time , went where the sun was on the sky , so that little town i chosen to explore , and found that one has traditional irish dishes , tried cows tong as started and fish soup for my spouse, the soup was full of chunks of fishes , but the smoked haddock took over the whole flavour , so would suggest to reduce the ammount of it , it was still delicious , it could be improoved by few drops of acid (wine or lemon juice for example), then main courses arrived , salmon super nicely seasoned and cooked veg so tasty and these potatoe chunks with chorizo , so seasoned , my wife was pleased , i had roasted lamb with mash and spring onion , seasonal vegs and gravy , the gravy flavour was unusual and so tasty , couldnt taste any chemical aditives , was also slightly malt , mash were nice and mild , veg were crunchy and full of flavour which surprised me as i thought they will be bland and i wont touch em , i had young waitreses to offer me traditional irish whisky as i wanted to try one , the name was starting on b , dont remember exactly , but flushed my mouth between meals nicely and it was very smooth (triple distilled) , i cooked 25 years so im telling you all , it was worth spending money, will remember my adventure with...
Read moreArrived here for on Saturday evening around 6.30 pm, they weren’t sure at first if they could accommodate us as a party of 9 but they did. We were sat upstairs and around 15 mins later our drinks and food order were taken. 20 mins later drinks arrived, but the pint of Guinness had NO head so was sent back and we were told it was the tap??? 55 mins after we arrived we were told that there were no ribs starters so had to re order!!! 55 mins later!!!! Eventually I stopped watching time but I do know our main courses came out within about 2 hours maybe more of sitting down. Not I don’t know in what world that is acceptable. By the way we were also told they needed the table back by 8, no one had a starter by then. To say the whole experience was a disgrace and how did they compensate. A round of drinks and 2 dishes removed from the bill. My husband got a seafood dish which he physically could not eat because it was drowned in chilli flakes. He still has chilli burns on his tongue. I don’t usually like doing this but I feel it is necessary after the woeful service. Shocking beyond belief and don’t be fooled I could go on and on these few complaints are just highlights of the whole experience. Shocking disgraceful service. Not worth the stress....
Read moreWe came back here because we were very happy with the food the first time we visited. This time, however, we had to wait for 5 minutes next to the bar with waiters passing us by without even looking at us. When we tried to ask them something they just past us by without a word. When we finally manged to ask one of them if there are any free tables, he said that's not his job and referred us to a girl behind the bar. She had been standing there the whole time we waited and didn't say a single word. She only asked if she can help us after her colleague pointed at her. It's great that the place is popular, that's why we went there too. No problem with there not being any free tables, we understand that's a possibility when you don't book in advance. But making people stand in the middle of the bar and completely ignoring them for such a long time is the definition of poor service. Pity. We don't plan on coming back or...
