Overall, frustrating experience. Don’t listen to anything his hours say they’re wrong. He opens at 8:30 (get there around 8:10-20 if you wanna be first) the first day we went at 9 am, (on google maps it says he opens 9am.) he was sold out and closed the entire day (mind you we walked 30 mins each way to get there) then we tried again the next day. Got there at 7:30 am to be first, he got there 8:22, shut the door, came back out 8:30 and said entirely in Italian (no English) this long story I couldn’t understand at all but the gist was he was too busy today so try again tomorrow. We leave tomorrow so we can’t even try, not that I even want to try again. His gold wears off in two days, he doesn’t even have that much silver, the only reason he’s popular is because he’s TikTok famous but they’re not handling the crowds well at all. His hours change at the drop of a hat so you never know when he’s gonna be open, and we don’t even know the reason he closed. No jewelry is worth this amount of effort. He needs to put on insta or something when he’s open and when he’s not so people can at least check and not spend hours just to find he’s sold out or closed TWICE IN A ROW. Go somewhere better for your jewelry cause this is a miss, you could get way better gold quality somewhere else IT’S ITALY. Overall would never go back I have a grudge against the man now. Also there was only two other people in line with us JUST THREE PEOPLE and he wouldn’t let us in. I literally just wanted to LOOK at his collection too because he’s popular but not even three measly people could be let in even though he was supposed to be open. Also he has a little sign that says closed all day for restocking it’s a paper sign on his doorbell BUT IT LIES it’s there in the morning before he opens but he takes it down whenever he opens so he really needs a sign that says closed until time come back later instead of saying “I’m closed all day don’t come back” SO MISLEADING and you would know NONE of this bc he puts no signs or anything anywhere. I hate this...
Read moreThis is a must stop shop when you visit Florence! Giuliano sells quality and affordable jewerly & has the kindest heart and most skilled hands.
To get inside is kind of confusing so I will leave directions here:
The shop is located across from Piazza Santo Spirito at 12 Via Sant'Agostino (A blue number 12 marks the right side of the door) To enter the main door push the buzzer Cecchi Carlo and wait for the shop owners to unlock (during buisness hours the door may already be open.) Upon entering walk straight forward to the black gate where you see the Esercizi Storici Fiorentini sign (which is an award given to Guiliano because he has been preforming this craft for over 50 YEARS) Through the gate and to the right and you've made it! This shop is the best kept secret of Florence & the most wonderful place to buy jewerly and gold ever! They have beautiful earrings, necklaces and bracelets and also gold boxes, card holders, salt and pepper dishes and so much more!
Don't miss this amazing place on your next visit to Florence, it's the best place to find one of a kind gifts for you friends and family back home! Not to mention it is so affordable, with almost everything being under $50 and handmade jewerly...
Read moreGiuliano and his wife are a delightful couple who welcomed us into their shop and gave us a short tour. He demonstrated the press underground, and she showed us all the products they offer upstairs. The store has been around since 1612.
They speak minimal English but were very eager to go on and on with all the intricacies of the items in the shops, like bracelets that have the GPS coordinates of Florence. They showed us pictures of their family and they even have a large drawing on display done by their grandchildren.
The items were surprisingly cheap for such carefully crafted items, such as 15-20 for a bracelet and 10 for a Christmas ornament.
Please visit with respect, lest this lovely shop be overrun and commercialized. I hesitated to write this review but the sheer happiness of the couple prompted me to share the experience and details with the world.
The store is a little hard to find. See pictures for the door and which bell to ring. Then, go straight in to...
