It used to be a friendly shop years ago. This is the outlet from the main Gente shop, they have several luxury designers and they keep also old collections which I don’t mind. I’m from the neighborhood and sometimes go to browse the selection. Recently I’ve bought a wool cape from parosh. Prices are hit or miss, sometimes it’s easier to buy from the brand itself.
However what has changed is the attitude of the sales associates, besides one, who’s a foreigner lady and very attentive, the other blond short haired ladies (owners?) are on a power trip for no reason, you pay and they don’t even say “thank you” or “hello”.
Today, because of the sales season, I passed by with a friend and one of these ladies without even say “hello, please can you wait few minutes because this and that..” just said without even looking at us “10 minutes” and I was like “10 minutes what?” to which she replied“You have to wait 10 minutes because it’s full and here is like Piazza del Popolo”. I found that very amusing since the shop was 30% full and also because there are no shops in Piazza del Popolo, only two cafes and the Hotel de Russie, I guess she wanted to say Piazza di Spagna. I’m lucky enough I don’t need to wait in line at the boutiques in Piazza di Spagna since I can make appointments with the SA at my favorite boutiques. Anyway while she was rambling her policy someone went out and we entered to browse the shop and we were ignored. So, after this last unpleasant experience, I decided to write this review and I’m happy to bring my money somewhere else...
Read moreWe did not have terrible experience with the staff other reviews did. However, we thought the place was a joke as a designer outlet goes: the prices are so high that it absolutely, most assuredly makes no sense to come here. Outlet is suppose to have bargains! This one is a graveyard of price tags.... just to give you an idea- Prada snickers cost 600 euro in their flagship store and one can buy it with 40% discount during the sales . In this “outlet “ the last season snickers were discounted 30% from the original price of 600. Please tell me how it is in any way a bargain? You will get a better price at the end of the season in Prada boutique! The same was applicable for the majority of items I checked. Take my advice- it is not worth a trip to...
Read moreDuring a short vacation in Rome my daughters and I visited the Gente outlet in Via Cola di Rienzo. Bad experience from the start. The 2 associates followed us throughout the shop, watching us and never taking their eyes off of us. I tried asking a question about an item and I was ignored. I decided not to spend any money or anymore time there. As a retail manager myself I can attest these 2 have no clue what customer service is. Rude and arrogant attitude, they both require re-training and an...
