Avoid Oimachi Shinagawa House!!!! Firstly Borderless is a decent business, except for the fact the have failed to address the issues I am about to discuss, despite being aware of it.
As an anonymous ex-tenant of Oimachi Shinagawa House, I strongly advise you to NOT to live there. The house is controlled and policed by 3 long-term tenants, who I will not name but Borderless will know exactly who I am referring to. It is an incredibly toxic environment, where you can expected to be verbally abused and threatened in the house group chat, ostracized for being different, accused of actions without evidence, and pit against other housemates.
Yes, I appreciate to some extent they are attempting to maintain a clean living environment, but the way they go about it is completely tyrannical, and they are quite happy to bend the rules when it suits them (e.g. leaving things in the common areas, having guests over unannounced, leaving the house for months on end without notification to borderless). They even control a line bot that dishes out tasks to people and threaten to give more tasks to individuals who don't comply - completely dystopian!
And Borderless, please! I am now living thousands of miles away yet I still hear of the torment these individuals are placing on current housemates. How have you not done anything about this yet??? I know I am not the only one to complain...
Read moreIf you are looking for a place to live for a few months this house is perfect, especially if its your first time in Japan since you have a lot of very kind housemates to talk to. The rooms are not too big but for me it was fine. For the house to be clean and taken good care of, everyone needs to be ready to be as tidy as in their own home. The only downside to that is, that not everyone is as clean as it should be which can be very annoying sometimes. All in all I loved the time here and I met a lot of new friends. I will definitely come back in the future ans can only recommend trying out one of the...
Read moreI have been staying at Borderless House in Kyoto since I came to Japan, several months ago. I love my room, the spacious living room, and cozy loft. My housemates are incredible, amazing people. We have so much fun spending time together in the house, going out together and even traveling together. Borderless organizes many interesting events that I’ve enjoyed participating in. I’m so happy for these opportunities to meet new people and share experiences with them. I would recommend Borderless house to anyone interested in...
