Kyoto City Arashiyama Tourist Parking Lot — Local services in Kyoto

We had a terrible experience with the staff at this parking facility. We rode electric bikes from Kyoto to Arashiyama and noticed a drinks vending machine at the parking area. Since it was a hot day, we stopped briefly to buy a few bottles of water. We had no intention of parking our bikes; we simply wanted to purchase the drinks and leave within a minute, keeping our bikes with us the entire time. However, the parking attendant refused to listen and immediately started demanding 200 yen for parking. While I was inserting coins into the vending machine, they began pulling on the handlebars of my daughter's bike. They shouted 'keep away' and crossed both arms in front of my wife’s and my head. These elderly attendants were determined not to let us buy water without paying for parking, even though we were holding onto our bikes the whole time. Their aggression shocked my family.
