It’s actually my birthday that day and i made reservations one month in advance for the couple kimono rental for me and my husband for a mini birthday lunch at Arashiyama together.
My Japanese was really bad because it has been almost 10 years since I have spoken a full, proper sentences in Japanese but the staffs here were really helpful, nice and kind.
The ground floor staff, I forgot to asked for her name helped me a lot on what to pick, i just let her to help choose/recommend the obi and accessories that will look best on me.
Same goes to the hairstylist that helped to recommend me which hairstyle that looks good on me - i have short hair.
I would like to also compliment Ms. Fujimoto, she is one of the kimono staff who helped to put kimono on me, and really help me when I feel a little lost and confused on what to do mostly when returning the kimono procedure. Thank you so so much :)

Read moreWe stumbled upon the kimono hire shop completely by accident, but we were looking for a place to hire for the day
We were offered prices for basic hire with and without hair styling and opted to get the hair styling as we wanted to look the part!
The staff were very attentive and offered help with the choosing of kimono.
We were then ushered up stairs where we were given bags to put our belongings and normal clothing in before stripping to our undergarments and donning traditional layers of dress. The staff were very efficient and meticulous with our presentation. We were quickly dressed and then sent to get our hair done. There were a range of styles and hair ornaments to choose from and the stylist was very efficient.
We felt the price was extremely reasonable as it was all day hire and included hair styling, and i felt wonderful walking around Arashiyama.
I highly recommend this shop for...
Read moreGreat experience with lovely and helpful staff. We had a booking for 7 people (5 adults and 2 kids). Just off the main road so the road is not jam packed full of tourist. They have two shops, one for male and female. Added bonus is across from the male shop is an ice cream shop so you can enjoy an ice cream straight away. It's also 1min walk to the Arashiyama station which is the closest toilet. If you're looking to hire kimonos this place is great to go with a variety or styles and size and also can accommodate a group booking.
We look forward to our next...
