We had a great experience.
The staff are incredibly polite and friendly. Some speak English very fluently. The ones that aren't fluent still know enough words that there was never any major problem with communication.
The room was very minimalist and pleasing. Everything was very neatly laid out when we arrived. The staff leaves Japanese snacks when they make the room, and tea is also provided in the room.
When we arrived we were a bit confused about how the breakfasts/dinners worked. It wasn't too clear, so I can explain here.
The breakfasts and dinner are served at designated times. You must reserve ahead with the front desk in advance so your table is ready with the food when you arrive.
I would strongly recommend trying the breakfasts and dinners. They are very delicious, interesting and also not too expensive. The pictures speak for themselves.
The public bath was also nice, although I do think the grout in some areas could be cleaned a bit.
One strange thing is they require you to leave the key with them when you go out. Not sure why...
Read moreWe had left our luggage in a taxi 5 days ago. The helpfulness and professionalism of this hotel was out of this world . The rooms are spacious , the food was special and unique (personally I could use a little more meat), but what sets this hotel apart is the service and attention by the staff - they would call us if we were late for breakfast , and give us refreshments in the lobby. We had filed a police report but the police hadn't connected our report to the luggage that the taxi driver returned because of incorrect inputted details. The hotel called multiple times for the 2 nights we stayed there and worked with the police to claim back our luggage with my passport inside . Although I didn't like the food , the rest was exceptional . There's a public bath on the 6th floor too. I'd give 10...
Read moreThis place is not relaxed. I tried to make a morning coffee for partner and myself in the lobby to take to our room. I got yelled at by the grumpy staff. The bath house were not clean at all, i felt i needed an hour long shiwer after entering. The male bath house ceiling is collapsed being held up with construction props, not a very relaxed bath i can tell you. Check in was at 4, making it very hard to organize bags and travel etc and check out was 10. If the room was was under $100 i may not have written this but as i oayed over $200 forthe night im a bit annoyed, especially when i can even have a morning coffee!! The "restaurant" is non existent, id say this is because the food is priced at over 8000 yen. All up, not happy, its lucky this was just a stop over. If i could give negative...
