I chose this kimono rental because it was close to my accommodation and offered a more flexible return time (8.30pm compared to the common 6pm), which allows for more flexibility in schedule.

I had a really pleasant time getting dressed, and the kimonos were of the retro kind, which was lovely. The staff who first attended to me spoke really good English, and she seemed to be a student doing part-time work. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name; she was really professional and pleasant to work with, and she was able to give me recommendations when I asked for it.

The lady who dressed me didn't speak English, but she was nice regardless, and took care to style my hair as well.

This kimono shop offers higher quality kimonos compared to what I see on tourists on the street in general, so the price is justified according to my own experience. Staff dressed you up professionally, and my hair was nicely done. The set price includes the sandals and bag too, though you need to pay extra for the hair. Alright, this is THE place to get kimono rentals in Kyoto. You not only get a really good selection of fabric and style, the staff here are nothing short of incredible. They are so courteous and helpful and guide you through the entire process in English, they also have s guide of what to do and the basic etiquette while wearing the kimono. On top of that, the staff are so mindblowingly good at what they do, be it getting you dressed or getting your hair done elegantly.
