Firstly for people who don’t bother googling this Buffet place before visiting :
Kyoto VEGGIE 🥬focused dining. (It’s in the name “Yasai” means vegetables)
You need to wear a MASK 😷& GLOVE 🧤(hygiene) when taking food at the buffet counter, you can remove when eating.
Buy a ticket 🎟️outside then give your ticket to the lady inside. She will usher you.
Kyoto is known for their outstanding produce. Apparently, they work with the local kyoto farmers 👩🌾 to supply their produce directly to the restaurant. 🥬🌽
Went during dinner time (7.30pm), it was well stocked even as it got more crowded. Instead of replenishing the same cooked dishes, new dishes are churned out. ONLY after the previous items are finished to prevent wastage. 🚫🗑️
They DO HAVE MEAT(no extra charge), there’s a hot pot 🍲with Minced Chicken and karaage 🍗 (you have to fry your own) when I was there. (Mix it with curry sauce & rice is best🍛)
The veggies were the star of the show, the produce were crisp, clean and natural no funkiness nothing withered. The sauces were amazing too, nothing overpowering!
It’s a great place to experience seasonal kyoto veggies for an...

They don’t speak English, so communication is quite difficult. They only accept cash payments.
The concept is different from other places. You enter, pay in cash at a machine, and decide whether you’ll have the all-you-can-eat buffet or shabu-shabu and sukiyaki—then the process begins.
Shabu-shabu involves hot, flavorful broth where you first blanch the vegetables and then thinly sliced Wagyu beef. The key point is that you either dip the Wagyu for 30 seconds or less in the hot broth. Then, you take the meat and vegetables, dip them in soy sauce, and eat them.
Sukiyaki, on the other hand, is a dish where the vegetables and Wagyu are simmered together in the same pot, then dipped in raw egg (as much as you like) before eating.
It was truly enjoyable, though my inexperience showed.
The all-you-can-eat buffet was also excellent. Especially during a time when we were craving vegetables (🫛🍄), it was...
Read moreI can absolutely recommend this place, it's super cute.
We went here for dinner and we could just choose the all u can eat buffet with all u can drink option (either with or without alcoholic beverages). We chose just soft drinks and paid 1850€ (it was a holiday).
You have to buy the entrance ticket at a vending mashine at the front door (first insert the money, then choose the option ;-)) we did noch get it so we asked the staff. She was really engaged to help us even her English was not fluent. Very cute! :)
We thought it's a just vegetarian restaurant, but it isn't - you can even fry your own chicken in a small fryer. But there are a lot of vegetarian options, almost all of the salads of the buffet were without meat. There are small boards in front of every salad where you can check the "ingredients". One of the best options was the small nabe stove. You can bring it to your table and cook your own nabe!
Just the toilets were a bit...
