Climbing Bum — Local services in Osaka

Went there today with my daughter to give it a go. We arrived nearly 2 pm. The manager was very nice. He speaks quite good English so we could communicate well enough.

The normal price for visitors(tourists) day pass for adult up to 55 yo is about ¥4500 including shoes and harness rental. ¥250 for chalk if you are quite a serious climber. Students get discount but still ¥3500 roughly. I was expecting to pay roughly up to ¥8000 for both of us.

Then the manager asked us, di we have any experience in indoor rock climbing. I told him we're "very beginners" 😁. He smiled and then he offered a watered down version of climbing session. 90 minutes for ¥4000 for me and my daughter since she's only 15 and a student. The price is inclusive of shoes and harness rental.

We really appreciate his honesty and excellent service attitude. He could have just let us purchased the day pass when we didn't really need it and made more money, but instead he offered the 90 minutes deal. Very thoughtful and very customer satisfaction orientated.

If you are an indoor rock climbing enthusiasts and would like to spend the whole day just doing that then the day pass will the one to go as it gives you full access the whole days until closing time. We weren't planning on doing just that so the 90 minutes session suited is perfectly.

I had planned to visit this gym during our stay in Osaka, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that it was just a few minutes’ walk from where we were staying!

As a novice climber, I enjoyed the bouldering area a lot since they had a lot of routes that were challenging but still enjoyable for relative beginners. Also really great that they had auto belay top rope routes! Well worth the entrance fees, especially since they also offer guest day passes that are a bit cheaper and perfect for travelers just passing through for a session.

Also love that it’s located in a mall with a lot of other sports-related amenities and shops too. Definitely recommend this facility to those looking for an all-in-one gym in...

Thoroughly enjoyed this gym. Its 1 mins walk from the station. The staff are super friendly. The young lady at reception was very helpful, she took the time to explain how things worked since it was our first time and showed us around the area. There are 4 auto belays and an upstairs bouldering area, locker room and changing room. Becareful, some days of the month the bouldering area is closed for resetting.
