8/2 - update - Was I scammed? 5 star = the service 1 star = the system and price I initially gave 5 stars for this salon but it is now reduced. The more you go to this salon, the more expensive it gets. Most of these good reviews seem to come from first time visits. In the first visit you can get money off if you leave a review but be warned, from the 3rd visit, the cost gets more expensive. This salon says they have an ‘approved system’ that keeps your nails healthy but ultimately the best way to look after your nails is to take a break and give time for healthy nails to grow back. On my 3rd visit, I found out when it was time to pay that the price doubles. In short, my first visit cost around ¥9000, my second around ¥6000 and today it was over ¥16,000 after discount. I had a coupon I bought during my first visit that cost around ¥6700 that reduced the cost a little (by ¥2200) but I didn’t find out until it was time to pay!!! Was I scammed? I wouldn’t have a problem paying that amount if first I knew I was paying that amount and if the designs were worth it. No other salon charges this amount for only nails. Prior to this I had come to this salon years ago and had never paid over ¥10,000 to do my nails. I wonder if I was ripped off because my Japanese is not good 🤔 I told my Japanese friends and they too were shocked. Is ¥18,000 not the price for a manicure and pedicure? You’re better off visiting this franchise for the first 2 visits (because the cost is standard) and going elsewhere from your 3rd visit because they will rip you off. There’s also no point buying a discount ticket. The designs have similar styles or are just super simple. You can bring in your own designs but for the price and quality, it’s better to go elsewhere. I feel that I’ve wasted so much money visiting this salon. I haven’t really loved any of the final designs on my nails and again the cost is just not worth it. Also the nails don’t last. Within the first 6-10 days there was always some damage to the design and later my nails. The topcoat would wear down, my nails would chip under the gel, stones would come off and the gel would chip a lot. Additionally, they charge for the smallest adjustments (for example moving studs from the top of your nail to the base). I returned only because I had a ticket. I haven’t completed the ticket and wilI definitely NOT be returning. I wish I could get a refund. The service is still good though and there are nice nail technicians that treat your nails well but the salon system is really bad ☹️☹️ 6/23 - I booked an appointment the day before and was attended to by Fujii. She was very friendly and made my experience really lovely. My Japanese is not great and still she communicated with me and made me feel relaxed. She took care and did my nails well. One note is that my cuticles were cut back quite a bit and bled on three fingers. They are still healing almost a week later and the skin around my cuticles are peeling and they give ¥550 off if you leave a review on your first visit.

I was excited to find this beautiful nail bar just a short walk from my hotel in Osaka, Umeda precinct. As others have said, google directs you to the back of the building but you can enter through the front, Diva is on the 4th floor. I walked in and booked two days ahead to ensure I could get an appointment during my stay (they do have an online booking website but I found it easier to book in person using google translate). I didn't know much Japanese for talking about nails 😅 but my nail consultant Saafu was lovely and very accommodating using google translate to make sure we were on the same page. I chose a single colour with magnet effect and a few added gems. Totally wrapped with how they came out, I can't stop looking at them 🥰 not cheap, but high attention to detail and I had an open budget, because holidays! Would recommend Diva Nails Umeda to anyone looking for a bit of a pampering afternoon getting some glam nails.

Amazing visit! I only speak English and was a bit worried the language barrier would make it difficult, but they were terrific and used Google translate every step of the way to make sure I knew what to expect and make sure I was happy. I normally stick with neutral colors and minimum design, but I wanted to try something different and did one of their autumn designs, and went for a bolder purple look. It surpassed my expectations! They were extremely detailed the entire way and made sure there were no sharp edges or bumps that I wasn't happy with. They also allowed me to make a small tweak to the design and leave off the larger jewels as I knew they would get caught in my hair, and it still looks incredible without the extra flair. I requested to keep my normal nail length and my nail tech was a perfectionist in making sure my hands were semetrical Highly recommend!
