I happened to chance upon my fave sweets shop, Chateraise, in this building when I was going back to my hotel.
I was ecstatic and immediately went in to take a look even though I was very full from having a sumptuous breakfast.
I bought lots and lots of my favorite confectionery and many more that were not sold in my own country before.
After all, who can resist those beautifully decorated sweets shining gloriously in the display fridge?
If you're a fan of sweets, you must come here because this shop is known for selling cutely decorated sweets at reasonable prices. 心はキュンとするよ。🎶
I also went to the baking section at Yamada Denki to top up my baking supplies. I feel that the prices here are quite reasonable. Just a few shelves away, I saw that they sold various pots and pans with classy marble design on them.
Check those pictures out below! I was so tempted to buy a few of them home.
It's a great pity that I do not have time to explore the rest of this giantic building. I hope to come...
Read moreBit disappointed after shopping at BIC camera, I thought the yamada being a larger chain should have better selection and cheaper prices, but that was not always the case. The tablet I was shopping for had a price difference of approximately 500yen between the stores. Here is a thing that messed me up, if you pick up merchandise on a floor they expect the you to pay for it on that floor. You cannot shop multiple floors and pay together. If you wanted to walk around with your merchandise, a sales guy has to carry your stuff and follow you around. I wanted to buy toys and a tablet, well I had this guy follow me around and it was a little awkward. I wonder what he would do if decided to take a break at the cafe. I still had a good shopping experience at yamada, the staff were super friendly and the service is excellent. They go out of the way make sure you are satisfied, almost to a point where foreigners like me feel a bit guilty. 4th floor is a must visit if you are...
Read moreVery helpful staff and multiple floors covering various items.
This is the "go to" electrics store. They even have a sound equipment testing room.
Two hints: this is Osaka, try negotiating the price, you might get 5-10% off if you sign up as a "member" and get a card. Remember the sales staff are mostly on commission, so they lose cash if they reduce the price, but hey, making 2% instead of 8% (just guessing) is better than "ok thanks for 15 minutes explaining which washing machine I should buy, I will think about it" and then buying it online.
The other main stores are Bic Camera (also in Namba, 12 minute walk?) Or Yodabashi Camera across the road from Osaka JR station, north exit.
I prefer LABI. I went there 3 weeks ago and got a cable adaptor with 2 very helpful staff. One realized I wanted stereo, so she put back the first one and found the stereo one for me (+50 cents?). That is quality...
