Didn't know it was a Michelin star restaurant until after I stepped in. Wanted to like it but the taste of it was not really fulfilling. A tiny bit of vegetables with a half boiled egg and a regular size shrimp was 2000 yen. Shockingly pricy. There's no English menu and I recommend to use Google lens to translate the menu, otherwise the staff will point to the pictures on the back of the menu and get you to pick one which was what happened. The soba was indeed special and handmade, texture is unique. But if you're someone who likes Cha soba or soba that tastes smooth and has a slight bounce then this place is not it. The texture of this soba is slightly rough and there is no elasticity to the texture. Overall, get cold soba instead of hot soba. Cold soba may have...
Read moreAmazing soba and i am not even kidding! The soyu base is so unique and tasty! We ordered both the ebi cold soba and the mountain vegetables warm soba. Ive had several sobas in several other places in Nagano and Tokyo but this was completely different. They make the soba themselves and its a little finer and springy in texture!
It is a cozy, hidden hideout, one will definitely miss it on the street unless you already decided to visit. The menus are in japanese, but ordering can be easily done by pointing the dishes. The mother is kind and spoke little english. They are a family business and i believe it is the 4th generation. There were a mix of foreigners and locals in the restaurant and this restaurant was also featured in the Mechelin...

Other famous soba shops focus on delivering top notch noodles, so they keep the broth simple umami to let the noodles shine. But this place has also mastered a sophisticated flavoured broth that does not supplant the rustic richness of the soba but is a perfect companion. Even the flavourful and slightly pickled veg lends more umami to the broth with every bite. The saltiness is rich but perfectly balanced. I opted for the no meat version, to better taste the soba n it’s solid 🔥 the whipped egg white melts in the mouth. Happiness! will go back to try the...
