FamilyMart — Local services in Tokyo

I visited this FamilyMart at 00:25 a.m. on October 9, 2025 to buy a few items and politely asked the staff member on duty (who was restocking shelves) if I could quickly use the restroom, which is clearly marked as available for customers. The employee shouted at me “No toilet!!!” in a very aggressive and disrespectful tone.

On top of that, the store itself was quite dirty, there was trash piled up near the entrance, and the floor was sticky and unclean. It really didn’t leave a good impression at all.

I understand that tourists may not be welcome everywhere, but this kind of rude and unprofessional behavior, combined with poor cleanliness, is absolutely unacceptable. The management should seriously consider better staff training and cleaning standards, or maybe hire people who actually care about...

Went in to purchase some things the other day. I go put my card in the card reader to pay and the machine beeps so i take my card out. Lady tells me to put the card in again so i do. Machine beeps again but the words are in Japanese so i don’t know what that means. As i go to try to grab my card for the second time the lady working the register slaps my hand to get me to keep the card in the machine. It didn’t go through that time so she ends up grabbing my card from my hand and aggressively sticking it into the machine herself. I get there is a language barrier but there was no need for physical intervention like that. No patience whatsoever shown by the worker so will not be coming to this...

음식하고 담배를 사려 하는데 말은 끝까지 쳐 듣지도 않고 닭꼬치 두개 사려니까 지 혼자 헤에? 이러면서 한개만 먼저 가져오고 말도 계속 작게 함. 다른 편의점에서는 라이터하고 맥주 그냥 검사 없이 사서 그냥 살 수 있나보다 했음. 술은 바구니에 담아 놓고 담배 상호명으로 얘기 했는데 못알아 쳐먹어서 진열번호로 말해주니까 크소 어쩌고 혼잣말 하면서 (여기서 부터 저 태도가 맞나? 이럼) 계속 아이디카드 아이디카드 이래서 패스포트? 이러니까 맞다고 달라그래서 줬는데 한국에선 20살 지났고 생일도 지나서 되는 줄 알았는데 술 담배는 만20세 부터 여서 안된다고 설명을 해줘야지 안된다고 계속 야리고 담배도 다른 거 쳐 갔다주면서 던지면서 주고 나머지 계산 할 음식 값은 10엔 짜리로 줄려다가 참았다 ㅋㅋ 참나 내가 살다살다 손님이 돈 던지면서 주는 건 봤어도 직원이 물건 던지면서 주는 건 첨 봤다 ;; 마스크 쳐 쓰고 작게 말하는 능지 떨어지는 빡빡이 직원분 ㅎㅎ 예의바른 나라 라고 알려져 있는 니네 나라 인식 니가 다 까먹으니까 조심해라 ㅋㅋㅋ 혹시나 이 글 보면 반성도 좀 하고 그 나이 먹고 일하는데...
