QFRONT — Local services in Tokyo

Opened on December 17, 1999, to the right of the opening to Center Gai (aka, Basketball Street), the Q FRONT Shibuya building quickly became one of the most recognizable buildings in Tokyo.

Despite the subsequent rapid growth of the area surrounding JR Shibuya Station, and the recent completion of new, much taller skyscrapers, Q FRONT Shibuya continues to dominate the area between Hachiko Square and Shibuya Crossing.

The vibrant images displayed on the face of the QFRONT Shibuya building light the usually crowded Hachiko Square each night until the building closes at 2 AM.

The giant QFRONT full-color LED screen actually consists of two independent screens: The main large screen usually displays the dynamic video images; the much smaller banner screen, named, “Q’S EYE” usually displays text. In terms of CDs, DVDs, Blu Ray, games and even Manga comics this store is well equipped for finding your entertainment wants and needs! One of the only places I've seen that still stock PS3 games and even PS2 for real die hard fans. I didn't buy anything so I can't comment on the service but I'm sure it will be as friendly and efficient as anywhere in Japan. One hiccup: they offer headsets to listen to the CDs but no consoles to try the games. All in all great...

Most of their books are in Japanese, but if you want to check some books in English you can directly go to the 7th floor. There are not many English books, but some novels in English are famous. They also has a cafe, you can enjoy the cafe and read the book at the same time. The price is quite reasonable for the average Tokyo's city, it's relatively expensive than the other bookstores I've...
