Manage your expectations and you will have a positive experience! Reading other reviews it feels like some expect it to be a water park or have a lot of amenities that is not expected at an onsen.
The environment is clean, quiet, calm and tranquil.
There is one indoor pool and one outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is a tad bit smaller than the indoor pool. It is approx 4m x 2.5 m and fits maybe 7-10 people. Where the indoor is a bit larger.
Towels and washcloths are provided for a fee if you have not brought your own.
Large storage units are provided in the changing room and larger backpacks can be put on a rack.

The major thing that I am unhappy about is that they have a time limit for people going to the baths. I would rather pay at the very end knowing that I have met all my purses and got to relax as long as I need to instead of paying for an hour and then kind of rushing through everything before someone comes to kind of Usher You Out. Read moreNice place. It was a bit crowded when i went - mostly long weekend crowd exploring Okutama I guess and from the nearby Hikawa camp. Ample parking spaces. They have got a small waiting room and give you a token number in case it’s crowded inside. At reception, you pay for the onsen and get to your business at the basement level onsens - indoor and outdoor. 1st floor has the restaurant and nice setup. I just hope they improve the food quality a bit. Otherwise it was super good overall. Onsen water temperature was also soothing after long hike. Would definitely go back sometime just...
