My second visit. First time was in March 2024. Had a very pleasant experience at that time, and I came back today to repay something back to one of the gods here as I promised I would. I walked in and a young lady was at the counter. I said 「こんにちは」 and she turned around and we made eye contact, but she ignored me and turned back around. Felt it was unpleasant but let it go. I then purchased two packs of incense (one pack was ¥200, I put ¥500 in the donation box). I began walking to the elevator and the lady who was at the counter said to me in a very stern voice in Chinese “You’re only allowed one packet.” I said to her “I would like to take one packet home to use, I put ¥500 in the donation box, It’s ¥200 per packet right?” She said “You can’t take it home,” in a tone which I felt was stern. I didn’t want to argue further so I just put one packet back. I’m really disappointed because the gods here are very real and really helped me, yet this experience left a really unpleasant taste in my mouth. I don’t think I can go back. I feel sad. From not saying hello back to me after making eye contact to saying you’re only allowed one packet, the entire experience was unpleasant. 初詣に台湾のお寺に伺ってみました。 作法などがわからず不安でしたが、お参りの仕方が書かれたパンフレットが入り口に置いてあったので、それを片手になんとかできました。 各部屋の壁にも、解説が書かれた紙が貼られていました。 賽銭箱に200円をいれたら長いお線香を持って、入り口の所から順に神様にお線香を供えていき、無事にお参りを済ませました。 一番上の階から窓の外を見ると、向かいの建物も同じように神様がまつられているのが見えました。屋根のデザインもすごくかっこ良いです。 虎や龍や豹などの彫刻が見えました。 よくみるとカボチャやダイコン、ピーマンなどもあってかわいかったです。 また、各階に占いのためと思われる三日月形の木製の道具と、おみくじのような箱がありました。 そのあたりの説明をお寺の方に聞きたかったのですが、皆さん声を出さずに静かにされていたので、だまって出てきてしまいました。 神様の前にあるお皿に神様カードのようなものがあって、お供え物なのか、それともいただいても良いものなのかわからずに悩みました。 すごく良いデザインだったので1枚いただきたかったですが、こちらも聞けずじまいでした…。 こんどまた行ったら、そのあたりもいろいろ聞いてみたいです。 あと、台湾とか中国は旧暦だから初詣になってないかもしれ...
