I’m a first-timer when it comes to moving in to an apartment. And as a foreigner who can barely speak Japanese, it was double the struggle. Nihon Agent Real Estate helped me get through the whole process from start to finish. Let me give an honest review about what I admire about this agency:
Compassion after communicating with almost 10 agencies in Japan, take my word, Nihon Agent Real Estate was the most compassionate. We reached out to them via phone call, and for just a few minutes, I already knew I found the right agency that will not discriminate and look down upon my budget and needs. Both the male and female staff I’ve spoken to could communicate in English effectively. I felt I was speaking to real humans who listen not just to make a sale. I felt they were human and not a company. So much respect for that.
Efficiency they booked me for a Zoom appointment in line with the coronavirus measures. That was convenient for both parties as my agent was able to interview and profile me to better suit my needs. Then, they had me wait for a while to present me some options. my agent’s first 3 were already great, and I felt she listened attentively and tried her best to meet my requests given a tight budget. I appreciated her taste and understanding. fast forward to when I have finally made up my mind to visit some places, she came in prepared and looking very professional. But again, she was very human and I felt she was also thinking about my safety as a woman when she presented me some options. It was funny when she said “this place doesn’t feel so safe for a woman.” Take note, that’s ghe more expensive place and she gave me an honest vibe even if it meant losing sales to a cheaper apartment. Absolutely thoughtful! That same day, we closed the deal and she gave me instructions right away. Super quick transaction!
Professionalism my process had been very smooth until I forgot to deposit my initial payment (please don’t do this even if your agent is kind. Don’t be like me. I was having tough times at work and so I was preoccupied and got delayed). Guess what, Nihon Agent Real Estate reassured me that I won’t lose my apartment that same day provided I make the money transfer as soon as I can. I appreciate that they gave me a good night’s sleep that day. during my contract signing, they reminded me a couple of times about the management company’s information so I could come in prepared. Viola, fast-forward to now, I am now having the time of my life at my new home, thanks to Nihon Agent Real Estate and Shizuka-san, my agent.
More power to this agency.
So, save your time and energy by booking them. They’re...
Read moreI’m actually quite jealous of all the people who had a great experience with Edward Gibbens because I did not. As an incoming JET and now an acting ALT, I had hoped to get the jump on finding an ideal home for myself as soon as Ed-san sent out emails contacting the incoming JETs. This housing journey started optimistic, however, it quickly turned for the worst after being denied from my first pick. I was reassured by Ed-san that he would make this process as easy on me as possible. Unfortunately this was not the case. To keep this review short, I was not one of the lucky ones. Emails were replied to, by Ed-san, most of the time with a significant delay and often times with disappointing news that ,yet, again the apartment I was interested in was no longer on the market. I was forced to take a tiny little apartment with rent at the top of my 33% income ratio on a loud street in a 1st floor unit, just barely a week before my departure in July because I did not want to be homeless once I arrived in Japan. I would consider trying Wagaya again because my bad experience was with just one employee of theirs and my colleagues have nothing but good reviews about their experience with Wagaya, but Ed-san did not make my experience good and now I am in a two year contract in a unit that I am not happy in. If you can avoid being helped by Ed-san, do so, and go with a different agent. Ed-san cannot handle a large work load and takes a lot of days off. Wagaya is one of the few places that foreigners can hire to find real estate in Japan, so the options are scarce to begin with. Wagaya was recommended by the JET program and Ed-san is a former JET so I really was hopeful. I wanted to wait a month to see how living in my apartment would feel and my feelings towards living here have not improved. The bad out-weighs the good, unfortunately. I would not recommend Wagaya until I, myself, have had a good experience with them. Hopefully in two years, there are more foreigner friendly options in...
Read moreI was researching real-estate companies in Japan, but really didn't know where to look, someone mentioned wagaya, by asking questions if they where real or not on a internet thread. So I inquired about a property on their site out of curiosity. Tuhin contacted me, we talked about details of the property I had inquired about via video call. So we settled on a date to see the property, bought my ticket, packed my bags, and went to go see it.
I am glad I contacted Wagaya to inquire about purchasing my first home from halfway across the world, I put my trust into Tuhin and his team at wagaya I do not regret my decision. As a first-time homebuyer, I had numerous questions that Tuhin and his team promptly provided answers to the best of their knowledge. If they didn't know the anwser, they will, not rest until they get answers for you. They will not settle for any excuses.
Tuhin showed me several homes, by setting up multiple walkthroughs on the same day. If you want a helpful, and communicative agent, a great overall company I truly and , I highly recommend Tuhin at wagaya. If your buying property in Japan as a foreigner, that doesn't speak English. You are in total luck Wagaya will handle everything you need translated.
Your paperwork, they will pay your monthly fees for you, for a fee of course but totally worth it if you don't live in Japan. Tuhin I truly do appreciate what you guys did to help me. I also appreciate your time and pacience. Wagaya is your best bet I stand by what I say. Also FYI if you see a property you want grab it,...
