Excellent hotel in a excellent location. The hotel is located right between the metro station and JR train station. This means you have both several metro lines, many JR local lines and Shinkansen within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. |The hotel is newly renovated and the rooms is as good as new. The hotel is very clean with a vibe of being luxurious. The Staff is very friendly and always greets you with a smile when you pass by the reception. Room keeping is nearly invisible but still manage to keep rooms cleaned and well kept. I usually leave the room a bit late after breakfast and usually run into the cleaning staff. But at this hotel I never encountered them once and only saw one through the window in the hallway. Still they kept my room cleaned even when I was just out for a 2 hours before returning. ||The room is spacious and got a good layout. The bathroom got lots of space to store your things and both shower and bathtub is in the room along with a modern japanese toilette. The rooms come with a closet with space for 6 hangers. A small area with a water cooker and selection of tea and coffee. The fridge is standard size but is very silent. I had a steamer in my room that looked new and was very easy to use. There's also a bench for your luggage making it easy to open and close is without having it on the floor. ||Breakfast is very good. It consist of a main dish and a small buffet. Theres a nice selection you can choose a main dish from and the buffet is big enough that it could suffice as a stand alone option. However the buffet is meant as a compliment to the main dish so dont expect a huge variety. It still got the usual stuff like bacon, sausage, soup, curry, bread, cold cuts, fruits, cereal and nice salad bar.||So why dont I give 5 stars?|Well there are a few things that I didnt like.|1. The AC is loud even on low making it difficult to sleep if noise is an issue. On medium and high its so loud you cant be in the room. However the AC is effective so low is more than enough to keep the room cool. But if you are a light sleeper you wont be able to sleep with the ac on unless you bring ear plugs.|2. There is a light panel beside the bed making it easy to control all lights in the room from the bed. But for some reason there is a blue diode on one of the switches which turns on when you turn of the light. So at night time when everything is off, there will be a blue light from diode on both sides to the bed that will light up the room. I had to put tape over the light to be able to sleep.|3. The room door isnt completely sealed. There is a small gap at the bottom and you an actually see through it if you lie on the floor. That means sound and light goes in and out through this gap. Strange choice to no have the door completely sealed off.||However these 3 things doesn't overshadow the fact that the hotel is excellent in every other way.|I will stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo and recommend this...
Read moreDuring our five-day trip to Tokyo, I stayed at two hotels near Tokyo Station: Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo and the Marunouchi Hotel. I much preferred Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo for its amicable, down-to-earth, and attentive service.
By contrast, the Marunouchi Hotel felt somewhat cold in atmosphere. The guest room was very small, making it difficult to move around comfortably. While the entrance area was spacious, this seemed wasted as the main part of the room remained too compact. The much-advertised view of the train station was also not particularly impressive. The breakfast buffet did not feel worth the price given the limited variety offered.
We approached the front desk at night before checking out next day early morning, when I asked a staff member if she could kindly assist me in booking the airport bus, she was about to confirm. However, before she could do so, another staff member intervened and spoke to the first staff in Japanese. Following that exchange, the first staff member declined my request, saying she could only assist if I encountered any problems later.
I believe it would have been more appropriate if the second staff had communicated to her colleague in English when discussing how to handle my request, or if the second staff member had taken responsibility to address it directly. Based on this experience, I felt the quality of service did not reflect the standard or value expected from a hotel of this level.
Another issue arose with the delivery of peppermint oil. Although the item was delivered, there was no message to notify us upon our return. I had to call the front desk, after which the item was promptly delivered. Yet on the morning of our check-out, we unexpectedly received a delayed notification message. This suggests that communication and coordination among the front desk staff has considerable room for...
Read moreIn case it helps other travelers, here are some basic details about my trip: first time to Japan (from US), solo traveler, female, plus-size, flew into Haneda airport.
I booked this hotel last-minute through Rakuten Travel; I only needed one night on my arrival date since I was leaving for Iwate the next day, so it was pricey but not outside my budget at all. Finding the hotel was a little tricky because the entrance is quite small (and I overshot it and walked more than I needed to), but it's clearly-labeled once you know what you are looking for.
The staff were very friendly and patient with me -- especially considering I was a sweaty, jet-lagged foreigner still trying to get my bearings. They offered to help take my luggage up to my room, and the young man who helped me was very nice and explained how to use my room key at all of the scan points.
I was so tired that I could barely appreciate the room before I passed out. But, when I woke up, I realized how nice it was. I slept great; the AC unit worked perfectly and the sheets were so comfortable. The view of the train lines outside my window was fantastic. I took a much-needed hot bath in the AM, and the hygiene products were quite nice (especially for sensitive skin). The complimentary water and coffee was very appreciated. Everything was clean, and all the general pictures here are true to how the lobby and rooms look.
You cannot beat the location. Tokyo Station is literally right next to the hotel. There are stores everywhere nearby, and there is a 7-11 just around the block. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again -- and book a little earlier to make it an even...
