An amazing place in Tokyo to eat. Many tourists often don't realize how big Tokyo Station actually is as the above ground part is just the tip of the iceberg.
Kitchen street is a small part of a large underground shopping area underneath Tokyo Station. There's probably 30 different restaurants here as well as several more just round the corner in 'Ramen Street'. The favourite among the locals is the Tonkatsu restaurant 'Suzuki', and although it's a bit tricky to find (use Google Maps and then look for the queue by the entrance) it's certainly one of the best Tokatsu I've ever had!

Read moreIf it's your first time and you're trying to figure out where this is, you can get to it on the north side of the station, without going through the station gates with a ticket. For example from the north Marunouchi station entrance, there's a corridor to take you to the Yaesu side and Kitchen Street is about halfway down.
Lots of different little restaurants, various types of cuisine. The few I went to all had English menus. Generally pretty good stuff, some places better than others. Tonkatsu Suzuki is really good.
