Bonanza Horse Riding — Local services in Baja California Sur

This is a great activity that I would recommend to anyone visiting this area.

The tour operator, Arron, picked us up on time and we arrived safely at the tour activity. We paid a few dollars more for the transportation option since we were fairly close to the facility. The tour location was shaded to keep the horses cool and a barrel of clean water was there for the horses to drink upon our return. Arron had indicated that we would probably benefit from a shorter horse ride than two hours we had originally planned. We took the shorter ride and we didn't regret it at all. It was just long enough to enjoy the beach walk, to enjoy the horse riding, take a few photos, and then return to get off the horses in time to avoid the noon time heat. Enrique and Jesus were great as our guides. I rode on Chewbacca and my wife rode on Paulina. The tour guides demonstrated knowledge of the route and kept us and our horses safely on the designated route.

The tour guides were very friendly, and you can’t beat the views. The company was punctual and east to get to. The positive reviews and pictures online made us choose this place because it looked like the horses were well cared for, which was a big concern for us.

We must give an honest review: we were really surprised when we showed up. Many of the horses were extremely underweight on and had ribs and hip bones showing and sunken in necks. These animals did not look healthy or well fed, which is devastating considering how hard they work. One gray horse looked like he was starving to death.

As we rode, I noticed some of them had scars, saddle sores on their backs, and open wounds on their bodies. We posted a few pictures online and at least 4 people commented on how skinny the horses looked, which was a bit embarrassing.

Our hope is that this isn’t how the horses are treated all year round. There is no reason for these animals to be underweight or have any open wounds or saddle sores from poorly fitting saddles. It can be very...

This was such an incredible experience from start to finish! We did a one-hour private tour, and it was so much fun and absolutely beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking, and riding along the beach was such a special moment.

A huge shoutout to Edwin—our amazing guide! We couldn’t believe he’s only 17 years old because he was so professional, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He even took fantastic photos of us during the ride, which we really appreciated!

The farm itself was such a fun place to visit, full of chickens, cats, and dogs—plus, we even got to see a donkey and a baby horse! One of the friendly dogs even joined us on the beach ride, which made the experience even more special.

Another thing we loved was how easy everything was. They picked us up from our hotel, which was a huge convenience and made the whole process seamless.
