La Forchetta was a great experience, it's a little loud, you are right on the road, so don't expect a quiet dinner. If you're staying at any of the resorts on the strip, it's a safe distance away, with just a small strip of restaurants and shops close by.
The food was excellent, I had a mushroom risotto, whilst my girlfriend and her parents had a chicken parmesan, lasagna, and another special (to do with chicken, it escapes me). All four meals were excellent, although most of us agreed the Mushroom risotto was best.
There are a few options for beers, with them costing anywhere from 3 - 8 USD. Their wine selection was good, but not extensive, and for some types of wine, the choices were pricy.
I tried the mumukite tropical IPA, los cuentos, which was very good. My girlfriend's family had another IPA called Minerva(?). Although he said the flavour was mild. My girlfriend and her mother got a Pinot Grigio which they said was quite good.
The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and around right when you needed them. Their English was quite good, and there are managers around if there are any issues.
The building is nice on the inside, with brick walls, and then interesting stone mosaic columns. There is no seating at the bar, and there are only tables to sit at, no booths. Bathrooms are up a small flight of stairs, I'm not sure that they're accessible.
There are space heaters outside, on the porch/deck area, though I really doubt you'd need them. When sitting outside you can see the surrounding resorts, mostly Cabo Azul resort, which is a gorgeous building. La Forchetta was the last building on the strip though, so there was nothing more further down the street. We sat outside and enjoyed the experience!
If I end up hungry in San Jose Del Cabo again, La Forchetta would certainly be one of my...
Read moreSo good last night that we made reservations before we left for tonight. Very unusual for us. Not that this has never happened before, but when you look at an incredibly innovative menu and wish you.could taste everything you must go back soon. But being our last night, we just had to. Last night, we had the charcuterie pasta and a bottle of Anexelin.Cabernet. Who knew about Mexican wine? Anyway, it was an excellent pairing thanks to Ulysses, our waiter. Tonight we ate earlier, since we weren't on a sunset cruise from 4:30 to 9:00pm. So we didn't split our entrees and even ordered an appetizer AND dessert. The carpaccio got our attention right away, but the close second was the artichoke appetizer. I had the Habanero, sausage penne. Finally a spicy description that did not dissapoint! My Bride had the beef short rib ravioli, also delicious. Finishing the line up was the tiramisu, light and custard like. Needless to say we reordered the same wine and once again enjoyed service from Ulysses. The owner came to our table and we said we truly enjoyed both nights at his restaurant. Not surprisingly, he owned another excellent restaurant down the street, Latino8, where we had a remarkable lunch just days before. That will have to be a separate review. They've across from our resort, Cabo Azul, but it is worth a detour if you find yourself in San Jose de Cabo. Luckily, we could just stroll over and...
Read moreMy friends and I decided to have dinner here yesterday. Everything was fine until the manager came and asked if everything was fine with you. It was really good and we replied that we like everything. !!But after that our waitress Lety disappeared somewhere and we waited for her for about 20-30 minutes. We wanted to order desserts and in the end we just caught another waiter, told him what we wanted, and after that she showed up and took the order. We didn’t like it and when we paid the bill we decided that we would leave her a tip, but less, since her work was unsatisfactory. We left a tip in cash and paid with cards. When she came to count us, she asked our friends how they wanted to leave a tip, they said that in cash, after that she looked at the money and said “Is this 5% okay for you?”, Friends said yes, she changed her face and she began to press the buttons of the terminal with sharp movements, put the terminal on the table with a noise to confirm the operation and, in general, with all her appearance made it clear that she was angry. I think this behavior is unacceptable! She forgot about us and we, accordingly, did not want to encourage such work with tips, but we decided that it would not be very good not to tip, so we left less, and she also remained unhappy and began to behave inappropriately. After that, we just took all the tip and left her nothing, as her behavior...
