While vacationing in San Jose del Cabo my daughter and I sampled several massage spas to discover the one we liked best. We both agreed that overall Rosa’s Spa was the best out of the four we visited. The price was $5 US higher per hour than other Spas visited, but well worth the small extra. The price for different massages and facials was a fraction of that charged in the spa on our resort. The Rosa’s manager, Omar was very attentive and ensured that we were best matched with specific therapist out of several, with the skills to meet our individual needs. The A/C was perfectly controlled at Rosa’s and there were ceiling fans over the massage areas making it perfectly comfortable even when it was very hot outside. The lighting in the massage rooms was adjusted to be just right, not too bright or too dim, for a relaxing experience. Some of the other Spas were way too bright inside the massage rooms. The decor was simple but clean and attractive and the massage rooms were larger than at the other Spas we visited, not as large as the fancy 5 star rooms at our resort (very expensive) but large enough so the therapist had sufficient room to move about. There was even one massage room with a door instead of just curtains to ensure complete privacy when disrobing. All other Spas visited just had curtains to close off the massage room and my daughter felt uncomfortable undressed with the curtains sliding open a bit as the therapist moved about during the session, in the smaller rooms with people walking back and forth just outside her room. She felt “watched”. At Rosa’s she was completely relaxed in the private massage room with a door. The massages at Rosa’s were among the best I have ever enjoyed, both in the therapist techniques and the personal energy of the various therapists there and the general friendly atmosphere of Rosa’s. My late wife was a registered massage therapist in Texas for over 30 years, so I recognize a good massage when I experience it. Jasmin at Rosa’s was the best of many therapists I have enjoyed while at San Jose del Cabo. She was so good that I went to Rosa’s two times that week, even while sampling other Spas....
Read moreThere is nothing “rosy” about this place. It felt more like a dark, hot storage room than a spa. This was honestly the worst massage I’ve ever experienced.
My daughter enjoyed hers, but mine was a mess from the start. I requested focus on my right side, but the therapist physically couldn’t reach that side of the table the space was too tight, and she didn’t have room to move properly. She awkwardly squeezed between the wall and table, gave up halfway through, and just switched sides.
To make it worse, her nails were way too long for bodywork. It didn’t feel like massage it felt like scratching and rubbing. Ten minutes in, I asked her to stop. She walked out without a word, like she already knew it wasn’t going well.
Even though it clearly wasn’t a full session, the front desk tried to charge me for 30 minutes. He showed me a timer as proof, but it was obvious she just clocked out late. Unfortunately, this matched the tourist-trap energy I’ve read about in some parts of Cabo pushing for payment no matter the quality.
The space had no A/C, no spa like ambiance, and no professionalism. Just staff sitting outside when we arrived and again when we left.
If you’re looking for relaxation, look elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreThe staff was very nice and unfortunately that's all I can give them. I came in for a pedicure and was honestly pretty disappointed, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for tourists especially. The chairs were really badly in need of reupholstering to the point where the stuffing was coming out, and to fix this they just threw throw blankets over them. Also the water my feet were in wasn't changed the whole time, so my feet were just in dirty cold water by the end. I'd also come in from the beach and my shoes were really sandy and she used the same towel to clean my just washed feet and my shoes. All this and it turned out to be about $30 US (I was told $25 before I went in, which tbh was much more than what it was worth, then they hit you with the federal tax when you go to pay). It's been a few hours now and tbh my feet don't feel like I've had a...
