Epic Water Toys Cancún — Local services in Cancún

My party(two couples) enjoyed jet skis one day and parasailed another day. The reasoning for my two stars is that we had a blast one the jet skis and the guys that set us up were so nice and helpful. The same day we paid for jet skis we paid for parasailing but couldn’t go the same day due to the weather of rain so came back two days later. They told us it was to windy that they would come get us at the pool when they deemed it safe. He estimated 2 hrs. They found us within 45 minutes and brought us to the jet skis to take us to the boat. The two females went first then they took both husbands on another ski. When we (girls) got on the boat they immediately started putting the harnesses on us. We sat down and the photographer said smile ok it’s time to go. My friend said our husbands were coming also and the guys on the boat didn’t realize they had a 2 couples coming. When the husbands made it to the boat they asked who wants to go first and our friends told me and my husband to go ahead since it was our 1st time. They put the harness on my husband told us to smile with our friends and come to the back of boat. They immediately buckle us to the bar and the only instruction we received was to cross our arms back and forth over the front of our chest if we wanted to come down. Ok, so we are going up they take a pic our, our friends video for a second and we are in the air. It’s beautiful, husband has phone so he’s snapping pics and videoing and the wind is pretty bad and we decide we are ready to come down after about 10 min. We are waving for them to let us down for what felt like 5 minutes when we see the captain come out from the boat cover and looks like he’s going to reel us in. It’s not working. They pull up the cover to where the motor is and our friends heard them say the motor broke and to the younger guy the captain said get the lever. From what our friends could hear the new guy pressed the lever that releases all the rope, the end of the rope is tied to a bolt and when he realeased us the pressure on bolt broke (we heard the snap) and we flew free from boat. We went up and back about 80 stories flying towards the hotels. We panicked husband told me to try to get out of straps but if we’d jump we would have been seriously hurt. We could see the boat speeding around us, the whole time we were flying backwards we were slowing coming down but it only felt like we were going back. We landed very hard in the water but the parachute was still in the air pulling us through the water. We were go under and popping back up over and over. We were going so fast through the water that we thought we were drowning. My husband was pulling in my harness telling me to get out of leg straps as he was getting out of his. The parachute finally half way landed in water and we slowed down a lot. Our boat plus another boat and 2 jet skis showed up to help. One of the guys from our boat jumped out and was pushing the parachute in the water, he didn’t know if we were still harnessed in I’m assuming. The jet ski rider put us on and we all flipped it. Finally got on they drove us to boat they pulled us up asked if we were ok then told us to get back on jet skis. I barely sat down to hug my friends before they told us we were leaving. When we got back to epic water sports the guys on boat told them the parachute broke and fell in water but didn’t mention that there were people on it. They were so nice and refunded us our money. The people and boat were contractors so epic does not own them but I highly recommend to not PARASAIL IN CANCUN!! There is no backup plan or safety action. Just pray and hope for the best. The jet ski we booked was amazing. Did it on 4/27/21 Loved it completely. Bought pictures and all. Was going to ride them again on the 28th after our 9am snorkeling trip with Chris. Let's start off, we really haven't snorkeled open water before. It was only me and girlfriend going. Went out to reef, before going in water, I explained to Chris, that I'm 50 and she 45. We our not looking to swim miles. I know I'm not young. We got in the water and off he went and said to follow him. Did we see fish, turtle and beautiful stuff. Sure did for split seconds will chasing him down for over 35 minutes. It became very unpleasant and frustrating because we didn't get to enjoy see nothing because you repeated was looking for him and struggling to keep up. We seen a large turtle right underneath us and we had 5 second look, look up and Chris was 25 yards away going opposite way. I should have stopped the nonsense from the get go. Pretty good swells that day. After 35 minutes I called it quits. The fun part was out the window and I really cared less about the money. After get back and boat I express myself about chasing some around and not getting to a chance to enjoy the view. His comment was hes 21 and pretty good shape. Honestly I felt there was a lot of safety issue that could have come up and the toddler we was with was to far, if her or I got introuble. I only would recommend this company to anyone if you make it dead clear on your demand of what you want. Kind of thinking at one point, they just wanted to see how long these two dummies would last. I did tip driver of boat, I believe they charter him. Was actually going to tip chris and actually return from hotel with more money as I promise chris I would, he was out. After more thinking later, I thought, nah really he was not worth it. So they lost out on another 100 plus in more jet ski money because of him. Please try not to grammer and spell check me. If you stay at Hyatt Ziva, avoid using this place due to immoral sales tactics. They will straight up lie to you. My family and I were choosing which company to use for whale shark snorkeling. We were specifically looking for companies that offered photos and video services. Zephtali from Epic Water Toys said that the guide would take these for us and we could buy them later. So we signed up.

Next day we are in the boat and about to go swimming with the whale shark. I noticed the guide didn’t have a camera and I asked him about it. He said that his company doesn’t offer that service.

So i go back and talk to a rep from Epic Water Toys. They said that photos/videos arent offered and accused me of lying. No customer service and no responsibility for deceitful sales tactics. I’ll also be reaching out to Hyatt and notifying them of Epic Water Toys...
