El Mercado — Restaurant in Cancún

El Mercado is by far the best hotel buffet I have eaten at.

For starters, the service is amazing despite the buffet-style of the restaurant. All the servers are responsive, accommodating, and very nice.

There is a very wide variety of stations for different fruits, breads, soups, stews, and even a cheese and cured meat bar to create your own charcuterie board. As if it couldn't get any better, there was a quesadilla and a Yucatan-style pulled pork taco station freshly made in front of you.

All the food was fresh and we had lunch and breakfast there. With such high quality food, you really can't go wrong with choosing any one of the items at El Mercado. Now that I'm back home I can only dream to find another buffet that might...

My cousin and I had breakfast at El Mercado buffet on February 26th, 27th & 28th. We had the pleasure of having the same wonderful server who took great care of us. His name was Jose Coleaza. Anything you needed or wanted he was there to assist you. By the second day, he already knew what kind of juice we liked, tea or coffee, and even a special concoction drink to help with a Hangover! Great buffet options. We were there for the Christmas Eve dinner buffet, and the seafood options (lobster, grilled shrimps) were pretty decent. Chicken katsu was also really good.
