Check out this review from a month ago by another couple. Our experience was almost identical. "Do not go to this scammy place. My wife and I went there for dinner and as soon as we entered the hostess shows us a menu on a piece of paper that was different from their menu online. The prices on that menu were way more expensive than their online menu, we were told that this was the menu available for that day and were taken to a table. They never offered us any other menu than that one. We both ordered the cheapest option whixh was filet mignon. As we were waiting for our food (long wait time by the way), we started noticing table around us had food that were not on the menu. After eating our food we saw a group of locals sitting to a table near us and being offered a different menu. We asked to see the menu and the waiter seemed embarassed to show it to us. On that menu the prices were 1/5 of the prices on the menu we were shown. Again the menu that was given to us initially was not advertised as a ''specials'' menu or anything of that sort. Do not bring your business there, scammy bunch."

My wife and I went to this restaurant on Sunday night, March 10. We had looked online and saw the great reviews and the menu and thought we could go and have a nice dinner for 1000 to 1200 pesos. We get there and the menu we saw online was replaced by a flimsy little printed out menu with prices where entrees were 1500 or 2000 pesos each. I took one look at the menu and said there must be some mistake, that this was not what we saw online. I said, sorry but we are not staying and then we left. The only thing I can think is that we are an older Canadian couple that was dressed nicely and somebody thought they could slide that menu by us and we'd have no problem paying 4000-5000 pesos for dinner. We left and walked to another restaurant nearby and got dinner for 750 pesos - not fancy but not a total ripoff like this place. I don't understand how they can pull this stuff and still have a 4.9 star rating. If you decide to eat here be sure and ask for the online menu and not the fake ripoff menu. Or maybe don't look like...

It was our last night in Cancún, and we wanted to dine somewhere special. Since we were staying nearby, we decided to give Restaurante Mediterráneo a try. The decor was luxurious, modern, and beautiful—though it didn’t exactly give off Mediterranean vibes (I say this as someone who is Mediterranean).

Our waiter was incredibly pleasant and attentive, and he spoke English, which made the experience even smoother for us.

Appetizers: We started with the Insalata Toscana, which had a lovely earthy flavor and was generous enough for two to share. My boyfriend, who is Italian, had to try the Bruschetta—and we both agreed it was our favorite dish. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and we especially loved the creative twist of using goat cheese instead of mozzarella or ricotta.

Main Courses: I ordered the Pescado Gallega. While the flavor profile wasn’t quite to my taste, the dish was beautifully plated and cooked perfectly, so I still appreciated it. My boyfriend had the Gambas, which were bursting with flavor and harmonized wonderfully.

Overall, we enjoyed experiencing a Mexican twist on Mediterranean cuisine. Each dish felt thoughtfully crafted—more about flavor and presentation than oversized portions. The ambiance was calming, and we appreciated the company of fellow diners. Thank you...
