We came for the great reviews, unfortunately we experienced the complete opposite. Incoming long review but let me point out all the wrongs so that this can be fixed for the future. The kid waiter only attended us a total of 2 times, when ordering and when giving us our drinks, never came back to our table to ask how things were going. We ordered a ceviche with any sauce it may have on the side. Shrimp came on a separate plate, whole, and completely plain. Did not come with any lemon or lime or chips to go with it, and when asked to have some, a different waiter hesitated and never brought them. We had to go up to the bar to ask for some limes and ration the chips we had from the initial complimentary chips and salsa. We asked for a side of chiles torreados when ordering to accompany my dad's fajitas, waiter was like it doesn't come with that plate. Sir, that's why we asked for a side. Those never came. My rice was cold but I was already fed up I just ate it, at least it tasted good. Mom had to get up to find someone to attend us and the manager came to see what all the issues were. Instead of apologizing, the waiter kid kept insisting he did no wrong. When we brought up the chiles torreados, he insisted that he saw it on his plate when it was in the kitchen, but he didn't even bring the food. Basically kept calling us liars. Manager says okay well make it up to keep the customer happy. He says he would discount the plate. Offered dessert, we declined dessert because we were already uncomfortable and didnt want another reason to still be here. Here comes the bill. Nothing discounted. We told the manager what happened with the discount? He says that he never said he would discount the plate and that's why he offered dessert. We, of course after all this mess, insisted he kept his word. He ended up doing it but not before giving that "ugh" look. Long story short, service sucked. Food was mid at best. What we experienced was not at all like the great reviews...

BEWARE! They charge 30% tips automatically without telling. If standard 30% tip/service charge is added, it should be stated in the check. HOWEVER, it was NOT in there. And we were not a big party, we were only 2 people. The server didn’t even let us know about 30%tips until we claimed when we noticed the price in the check and the receipt was very different! He was trying to convince us saying 30% tips automatically charged for every customers in the area (which is a lie; we went to the restaurant right next door last night, and we chose the percentage of tips on our own!). They do it only to tourist all the time in Cancun?? So disappointed at Cancun Mexico and the server/restaurant!

The overall service and food were bad as well. I was under the pressure that I needed to order something more expensive food. (Maybe this is why the server tipped himself 30% using my credit card!) The chip was chewy/ soaked in humidity, and other dishes were kind of “so so”, “not too bad” level.

I just read someone’s review about a server complained the customer about tipping not enough, and you, owner replied that tipping is 100% optional!! Owner confirmed that I got scammed by one of your server! You must educate your servers! How are you going to get my money back?! My tip is ZERO!!! And you guys ruined my vacation! Need your response, not...

Sunday 4ish dining experience - frequent travelers. Waiter (portly short gentleman) was new (indicated 2nd day) and his lack of training really showed. He struggled with taking the order, using the computer and later lied the tip is minimum 15% of total but when he handed me the card machine I could input whatever figure I wanted (opted to leave cash). Unfortunate, as a management team was hanging around and put minimum effort in helping him or reading the room of disappointment and frustration of patrons (not the only table growing impatient). Everything was slow - drinks, entree, check. Evidence - ice was 1/5 cup melted to water when it arrived at the table to pour in my Cuba Libre. Keep in mind - I requested my drinks without ice 2x but ignored by this waiter. Bait & Switch - Sold a Coco drink in a coconut and told about 15 minutes later it will be in a regular cup as no coconuts. Avoid ordering shrimp anything whether empanada or burrito as simply inedible. The one favorable item was the local fish (can't remember name) empanada was tasty. The partial view of water is nice in the open seating dining area but, maybe better experience with a different waiter.

I would not recommend due to service, and lackluster food at this establishment. Reviews are deceptive as it was...

The view is nice. Other than that, it’s one of those typical Cancun rip offs. The drink recommended is off the menu and — you guessed it right — it fetches an exorbitant price. The food is very ordinary by Mexican good restaurant standard Someone recommended it to me and I was hoping to visit 3 times (next to my hotel). Instead, I now note it as a tourist trap. For one person, the server initially recommended that I take a big lobster tail, 3 jumbo shrimps and another big fish. (More than 1.5kg of protein for one person— are you freaking kidding me????) Talking of good faith… I complained and they attributed it conveniently to poor communication in English. From there on, my expectation was low. Food tasted really ordinary for this price point (I eat all over world and am a seafood lover). The jaiba empanada could not even compare with the street taco shop. There was just no flavor. The octopus was decent but I wouldn’t pay 550 for it in Mexico.

I tried the Tostadas de Cangrejo ( which is really blue crab jaiba not sea crab) this was good, the taste of the sauce was like the red Tostito sauce which threw me off a little bit. Ceviche de caracol, was horrible, I believe they didn’t cook it properly it still had that bitter taste when you don’t cook sea conch well. Ceviche is supposed to have a lot of lime/lemon and they barely put any in and it was also missing salt. The service was ok. Im a native Spanish speaker, at first I would speak to them in Spanish and they replied in English idk what that was about. I went for lunch about 2-3 pm. They had a live band playing classics and a beautiful view of playa caracol.

Best meals we have had in Cancun! Our waiter was very helpful and made recommendations based on our likes rather than the price of the meal! He showed us the fresh fish and catch of the day. Coconut shrimp was amazing!!! Mom said the sauce is the best she has ever had and she is picky!! The guys both had the paella and they raved about it!! The shrimp linguine was so good and the grilled shrimp in it was perfect! The margaritas had grape juice in it which we were kind of skeptical but they we amazing!! The waterfront location is great! Nice view of the lighthouse and blue water. The breeze made it such a great atmosphere for lunch.
