Very professional from the start. Our guide Chuey was great. He was friendly and informative, was with us for the day and available to do whatever we wanted to do. He picked us up promptly from the Pier having provided us instructions of where to meet in advance. We took a drive to La Bufadora and arrived there before the busloads of tourists. We had the place almost to ourselves for the first half hour or more. When we were done shopping in the markets he took us to a great restaurant located between La Bufadora and Ensenada. The was by request as our friends had been there two weeks prior. We enjoyed the most amazing Ceviche for very reasonable prices. Be sure to check Lupitas if you are in the area. After lunch Chuey drove us back to Ensenada for our massages. We both had 90 minute massages and were very pleased with the service there too. The women who work there are friendly and well trained. Flower was my therapist. Not sure if she speaks much English because the woman at the front desk asked me the questions about my preferences, etc. I was concerned at first because Flower seemed young and I wondered if she was really a professional masseuse. I was wrong to judge. She was really great. I was so relaxed that I found myself drifting off to sleep. It was Mother's Day and she added the hot stones to my massage. She clearly has been trained in her craft. It was an excellent massage. I would come back in a minute. After our massages, we asked Chuey to take us by Papa's an Beers (just for nostalgia having attended SDSU in the early 80's). Our last stop was a Bar Andaluz for Margaritas. It's located at the historic site of the Riviera Cultural Center. There is no need to book this tour through the cruise line. They are very reputable and safe, plus you can tailor your private experience to your interests. Thank you Jesse,...
Read moreThis is our first time on a cruise (Carnival Radiance) and to Ensenada, Mexico. Instead of booking excursions with the cruise, we researched on reddit and google and came across Ensenada Excursions and Tours. We filled out a simple questionnaire on the website. Within a day or two, Ena reached out via email providing a quote and full itinerary. We are really big on planning and Ena answered all our questions patiently and promptly. We ended up booking kayaking at La Bufadora, ATV, and tequila tasting. For a private tour, the price is affordable and reasonable. A few days before the cruise, they emailed us again to confirm the itinerary and provide detailed instructions on where to meet. The day we arrived in Ensenada, we were able to get off the cruise a little earlier than expected, but David (our driver) was already waiting for us with a welcome sign and a big smile. Even though English is not David's first language, we had no problem communicating. We arrived at La Bufadora early, but the kayak guide took us right away. David recommended Lidia Tacos Grill right by the kayaking place because we were hungry, and it did not disappoint! The tacos were so delicious. We then went to ATV. Don't make the same mistake I made... definitely bring along some eye protective gear when riding an ATV. To conclude our day, we stopped by Dona Engracia for tequila tasting. Our guide was not messing around with the shots. We had so much fun and ended up taking at least 8 full shots (as far as I remembered...) per person. Every stop along the way, David waited patiently, greeted us warmly, took pictures for us and shared fun facts around Ensenada. He made us feel safe and would remind us of the time and our schedule, reassuring that we were doing fine and would make it back to the ship on time. It was such a fun experience and I highly recommend Ensenada...
Read moreWhen I was booking this excursion I was a little nervous because it wasn't through the cruise ship. However, I went for it, and it was totally fine.
Our driver Chewie was great! Very nice and friendly! Picked us up right where they said he would, and on time. It was really great having a private car! He even held up a sign for us that wished me Happy Birthday! That was nice :) Only thing was the seatbelts in the back didn't work. But a great ride other than that.
The thing I would say needed improvement was the horse introduction and saddle. My saddle was too small for me and the stirrups weren't at the correct level. It was a very painful ride and we had to cut it short. I felt like they should have given more instruction and at least adjusted the stirrup to fit me. Also, I would have liked to know my horse's name, and what to do to make the horse stop, turn, etc.
The mounting and beginning of the ride felt very rushed and it made me and my partner nervous. We weren't given any instructions or directions, and our guide did not speak English, so we couldn't ask any questions. She did walk with us the whole time, which helped it not be as nerve wracking.
The beach was beautiful. Just wish that my saddle fit better, so I could have enjoyed it more.
La Bufadora was fun and the blowhole was great. The ride to and from the port was awesome and timely.
I would totally recommend them, I would just make sure you get them to adjust your saddle and ask questions while the driver is still with you (he speaks English)...before they throw you on a horse...
