It is not clear if the restaurant is a direct part of Hotel Lina’s so I apologize if this is not accurate. The restaurant does not have a separate location listed on Google. When we went to eat here the old ladies were not happy to see us at all, scowling and fake smiles with a mean look in the eye. I thought at first I was just imagining it. There was no one else in the space but they were definitely open so we set down to order. We both ordered pozole and a Coca-Cola. The one lady kept giving sneering side looks and was not happy about serving us. There was no internet so we were unable to use translation to help facilitate the order as there were items available that didn’t have a clear translation nor were they interested in trying to explain but it got done and we quietly waited. We are a gay couple and do look fey. Obviously queer but not obscene. I am uncertain if this is why but neither she or the other lady were friendly for no reason I could discern. When we received our food, it looked great and smelled wonderful. As we began eating, we could hear them talking in Spanish about how they had put giant chunks of menudo in the food but as both of our Spanish is imperfect, we agreed we must have misunderstood. Indeed they had done it. I may not be Mexican but in all my years coming here, never have I had a lump of entrails and brains in my pozole. We paid and even tipped but have not returned as we were clearly not welcome. My advice is to beware of this establishment and eat elsewhere. No one deserves this sort...
Read moreWe arrived in Puerto Vallarta without accommodation, and this was the first place we went to. We had a slight communication problem first arriving, because the receptionist did not speak any English, and we did not speak any Spanish. We finally, after lots of laughter and confusion, figured out our accommodation and price. It was 300 pesos/night and we stayed for one week. Our room was on the second floor and contained a bed, night stand and small dresser. There was a bathroom and shower in our room, and a fan. The fan is hung quite low, so be wary, as my boyfriend (who is 6'4) knocked it with his hand a couple times. The staff was very nice and friendly, and they cleaned the entire property everyday. It was sometimes a little noisy in the mornings, but we didn't really mind. Its very close to the beach (maybe four blocks) and there is a couple of taco vendors just outside. It is a very Mexican hotel, but if you are just looking for something basic I would definitely recommend. We had no...
Read moreWe booked three nights here during December 2019 at a very good price on booking.com. When we arrived at the hotel te desk clerk did not have our reservation and said they do not even do online reservations. We showed her the confirmation screenshot and hse called an off-site manager or owner who confirmed they do not honor online reservations. We had prepaid all three nights so we did not want to take another room in case we could not get our money back. We looked at the rooms anyway. They were bare walls and bad beds, looked like a youth hostel for students on a low budget. The neighborhood was low class. In a way, we were glad they didn't have our reservation. Booking.com was good and got our money back. We found another hotel after much looking around, which cost way much more money. Booking.com agreed to cover our first night there. 1-star to the hotel, 3 stars to booking.com, -4 for booking us there when they don't take online reservations and +3 for getting...
