Galleria Dante — Attraction in Jalisco

I visited the gallery on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. Be mindful that the gallery closes at 2pm on Saturdays.

The gallery is truly a hidden paradise. The gallery is large having two floors. It is not just an indoor gallery, there is an outdoor portion with beautiful outdoor sculptures and fountains. The gallery is a host for many artist and art pieces. The gallery also has a wonderful bar and restaurant. There is an exquisite specialty margarita that is like no other because it incorporates juices from indigenous plants. The restaurant offers some great choices - their pizza is outstanding, but their bolognese lasagne is to die for.

Art, great food and drink - what more could one ask for.

Also the art gallery manager is a lovely lady - very warm, but professional, and very down to earth. She, in fact, allowed my brother and I to come into the gallery after it had closed at 2pm. She was very accommodating and we felt like guest in a friend's home but with way better gallery level art!

This beautiful private gallery is much more substantial than it looks from outside, chock full of many types of art (all local artists). There's multiple rooms and a large courtyard, all packed with art.

Different styles, mediums, formats, with quite a bit of sculpture and an emphasis on local subjects. It's refreshingly very different if you're used to US art galleries.

When I was there (Sep 2019), part of the building was closed for renovation and it was still well worth the visit.
