A week ago i went to Mexico to meet my husband and my 2 stepdaughters (they live in the States and in live in Colombia. We face the drama of the eternal process to get a visa to finally be together under the same roof). Thanks to Covid, our story extended 2 years more than the average, and everytime we have to say goodbye at any airport  we feel our hearts broken, and it doesn't get easier with time. Sometimes, at the airport, we have the same terminal, so we can pass security and be together a little  bit longer, so I never understood why American Express lounge was placed before security, at that moment  had no sense for me to sit for a while and then rush through to reach your gate. But this time, when we realized we had different terminals, American Express lounge was our miracle. Those who suffer the same situation  knows how precious and important is to have one minute more holding hands, one more kiss, one more hug before depart and be away for months. In this opportunity was not only my husband and i, but also my 2 beautiful  stepdaughters, and after being so close together for more than a week, you feel your heard being ripped off when you see them go away from your arms and be left alone again. This lounge and it's amazing staff gave us the opportunity to have one more hour and a half together, between amazing  food, a couple margaritas and confort. The amazing  staff  saw our struggle and made everything to make us feel so welcome and loved, everyone there helped us to have the best experience. When they saw us saying  goodbye  at the lounge gate,  and saw that i was left there alone crying, the ladies from the front desk came to hug me and confort me,  they knew my flight was later, so they signed me in to the most amazing  and relaxing  massage ever, and to be honest made my broken  heart feels warmed and cared.... this lounge is amazing by it self, but is the people who make it incredible, is the staff who turned something great into something  magical. Thank you American Express lounge for do all to make that last kiss, that last family hug, that last minute together into something that we'll never forget, thank you for covering me with love and attentions when i needed them the most. All of you, with your huge smiles and warmth  became our favorite  lounge at the Benito...

Great place to relax before you board your flight.

I travel to Mexico often and always missed until someone pointed it out to me. The place is tucked away by the check-in counter at United and outside of security. I did not have to wait in line and it was not as busy. They told me to anticipate an hour to get to my gate, but I got through in about 15 minutes.

I was impressed with the lounge and thought it was tastefully done for people to enjoy their privacy or sit in an open area. The lounge is different from the US and they do not have a buffet, but offer a menu to order. I think they also have different benefits for US vs Mexico Amex cards and everything is complimentary if you have a US Platinum Amex so ignore the prices on the menu. I prefer made to order meals anyway and enjoyed their options. I highly recommend their margaritas. The wait staff were very helpful and attentive. They also speak English if necessary.

I saw people in scrubs and thought a group of nurses were traveling, but realized they were massage therapists LOL... so I signed up for a 15 minute massage. Overall it was a good experience once I figured things out. It would be nice to get more information about amenities at the check-in counter. However, the lounges in the US also do not advertise massages so it's the same service at the check-in counter for both countries.

Highly recommend you take advantage of this credit card perk and great way to relax before...

I've been through my fair share of terminal woes, but stumbling upon this lounge was like finding a hidden oasis amidst the chaos. Let me break it down: the customer service here is next-level fantastic. I'm talking about the kind of service that makes you feel like you're not just another traveler; you're a VIP jetsetter.

Now, let's talk food. You know that moment when your stomach grumbles and the airport options are limited to lukewarm fast food? Say goodbye to those days. At this lounge, it's like a foodie's paradise. From gourmet bites to a range of beverage options that you'd expect in a top-notch cocktail bar, it's all here and it's all on the house. Yes, you heard me right – complimentary grub and drinks that would put some fancy restaurants to shame. They've got you covered, whether you're craving a quick snack or a full-on meal.

Here's the deal: when I'm at the Mexico City airport's Terminal 1, and this lounge isn't packed like a sardine can, it's my go-to spot. It's like chilling in a swanky living room that happens to be at the airport. So, if you're ever waiting for a flight and you find yourself in Terminal 1, don't hesitate to swing by the American Express Centurion Lounge in Mexico City. t's more than just a lounge – it's a pit stop for the ultimate...
